seretide evohaler
hi susan i have the seritide evohaler. you will find it can take couple of weeks to kick in properly but you should then notice diff. don't forget to use it through a spacer as well.
Hi Susan,
Yes, in theory it keeps the airways open for 12 hrs - the long acting bit which is serevent.
The other component is flixotide is a steroid but may take up to 2-3 weeeks to take any effect dampening down the inflamation.
Whatever you do though, don't stop carrying your reliever (blue inhaler) with you just in case. You may rarely need it but keep it withyou.
I do take it and find it helps a bit but I have brittle asthma so need loads of other stuff anyway.
Hope this helps
Kate
hi susan, i have been on the seretide evohaler for 8 months, i find it hit and miss, but thats due to my asthma being difficult, but it has made life easier.
hope it works for you
Hello,
I have been on Seretide for just over a year and my asthma clinic recommended that I take 2 relief ""puffs"" about 15-20 mins before using the Seretide to try to get the maximum amount into my airways-but I still find I have to use the relief inhaler on some occasions even though I take the Seretide ""as prescribed"" if you know what I mean.
I take Seretide, I've been told to up it to 3 puffs twice a day when I've got a chest infection (now) or when hayfever is really bad. I find normally I don't need anything else, but have been taking the odd salbutamol puff this week since I've been coughing more.
