My son was born with asthma dn it took him spending most of his first 18 months of life in hospital for us to be given a diagnoses of asthma. He is 8 in 6 days time and at the moment we are on our 3rd month of seretide which took us over a year to get as my GP was being very funny about changing and

Needing ventolin after doing peak flow
I really need to push for an appoinment with the asthma nurse at our practice so I don't have to keep plaguing you lovely people with my questions! While much improved at the end of the course of pred (and having taken her Seretide 50 down to 2 puff twice a day from the three twice a day previously)

please help me get my head round this....
Took my little girl (aged 19mths) to her consultant appointment today feeling really positive. Her meds finally seem to be keeping her Asthma controlled. She is on Seretide (although unlicensed for under 4's and not recommended), Montelukast, Antihistamine, Ventolin and has Pred once a month ish. I

The Molly saga continues.......
Molly has her review at the hostpial today. We have had endless problems since the last vist, her medication has been changed numerous times and we have been in and out of the doctors like a yoyo. The appointment was useless. He suggested that we carry on as we are and he'll see her again in 6 weeks

I am glad I found this place and hope to meet others that understand how hard asthma can really be. My 6 year old Katie was diagnosed with chronic brittle asthma 3 years ago. Katie first started having symptoms of asthma when she was 11 months old when she had her first lot of pneumonia. then things

Saw Maddies cons yest who is now referring her to the childrens hospital for further input. He said that her Asthma isnt responding as it should to the meds etc. He said that she needs further tests to establish what is going on and has expressed his concern with going into the winter months. Dry cough for several weeks
Hi My daughter has been treated for asthma on and off since a baby. Never anything serious and she has been the only one in the family who wheezes so usually it is straightforward. Recently she has had a dry cough for weeks and we have seen several doctors with no luck. It sounds like she is clearing

Montelukast advice
Hi there - my daughter has just started on montelukast (she is 7 and also has seretide daily) and we are struggling to find a way to fit it into our routines. It says it must be taken 1 hour before or 2 hours after food. She is very active and needs a snack after school and then tea. She is in bed

Hiya, My little boy of 5 years old is on 200mcg (daily dose) of seretide and 5ml of cetirizine in the evening, yet we have had to use his salbutamol in the last 4-6 weeks as he is starting to get some asthma symptoms. We had a particularly rough night with lots of coughing and so I called his respiratory
