Newbie to site. Diagnosed borderline COPD 5 years ago, stopped smoking 3.5 years ago after smoking up to 60 a day. Champix did the trick..
Initially was put on Salamol Easi-Breathe. Everything appeared fine until recently when I started with a chest infection back in October, since then I have had 5 more chest infection, 4 lots of antibiotics plus steroids along with Spiriva inhaler. Was due to take a spirometer test last week but the nurse

Productive cough weeks after a cold, should I do something?
Hi. Brief history for context - had asthma since a toddler (now 39, always needed preventative treatment but usually asthma well controlled, but with mild flare ups during colds/viruses/chest infections. Back in November had bad flare up after a cold and needed 2 weeks of pred. Dr then changed medication

Humidifiers
Hi, I have inhalers: Seretide, Salamol and spiriva. During the night on numerous occasions, I wake up with a dry throat, to relieve this I have to drink about a pint of water. Would a humidifier help me please? Best wishes Cass

Asthma or Copd or both?
I was diagnosed with occasional asthma, several years ago, only came on now and again; Then two years ago diagnosed with COPD, and was very recently an emergency to resuss, gone axphsic (blue) with severe breathing problems. How to tell the difference between the two please? or can you have both?

Constant sneezing and nasal irritation - reaction to Seretide
Hi, New member, first post. I was first diagnosed with asthma in 2008. Ever since I started taking preventer inhalers (I'm now using Seretide 250) I've been sneezing constantly. 30-50 times a day. I'm also constantly full of mucus. Before I was diagnosed, I was coughing all the time. Immediately after

Tiredness, Distraction and Medication Timetables
I'm finding myself in a bit of a catch-22 : when I am really having trouble with my asthma I tend to be very tired and sleepy and have trouble dragging myself out of bed to take medicines at specific times. Sometimes this also happens when I crash with exhaustion after a good day where I've been able

inhalers
I dont't know if anyone can help me. My son has asthma, he also has learning difficulties, autictic spectrum disorder, epilepsy and a rare syndrome so taking his inhalers can be a bit problematic. The problem I have is that having seen the asthma nurse for his 6 month check she has given him Seretide

Fed up and things dont seem to be getting much better...
Hi Warning before I start this may turn into a bit of a rant.... Thomas was last admitted just before Christmas (his 7th hospital trip since beginning of August). It turned out he had a lower respiratory infection and discharged the next day with a 5 day course of pred and a 10 day course of co-axoxiclav

Problems with child not sleeping, query medication to blame???
Evening all! I am sitting here in our lounge with my 4yr old son, Leo, snuggled up in between us. He has just crept downstairs, wide awake and happy as anything, just as if it is time to get up. The thing is, he has not yet been to sleep despite going to bed at 7.30 this evening straight after his

What to do when your child's asthma IS under control for once?!!
Hi all, It has been a while since I've posted and that is partly because Leo has been doing so well (fingers and toes crossed). My husband and I have spent the last few months almost waiting for an asthma attack to come along and cause havoc again but since his last one in July he has nothing apart
