Biologics
Hi - following on from my previous posts, has anyone been rejected for biologics due to their inhaled steroid dose being high? I have Seretide 250mcg x2 puffs twice daily and pulmicort nebs 2mg twice daily. They’re saying the high doses of inhaled steroids are the cause of my infections, but I’m colonised

Broncholidator Reversibility Test
Hi, I posted a few days ago about my team wanting to do a broncholidator reversibility test and FeNO before they put me forward for biologics. I wasn't going to do the test, then decided to do it, incase it did show reversibility to save time waiting for a referral to Wynthenshawe as my current hospital

Fostair - lactose-free?
I just had a telephone consult with my respiratory consultant. As the steroid in my Seretide inhaler is thought likely to be the cause of my recently diagnosed adrenal insufficiency, he proposes to switch me from Seretide to Fostair as the steroid in that is less potent. I am seeing conflicting information

Seretide and Addisons disease
I was diagnosed with Addisons in May 2023 and have been using inhaled steroids / seretide for chronic Asthma for 20+ years. My endocrine consultant told me to stop taking my seretide which I declined to do, as Asthma extremely well controlled, unless he refers me to Asthma team at hospital to manage

10 Year Old with Uncontrolled Asthma
My 10 year old doesn't seem to be able to catch a break. Currently on 3rd dose of steriods in a short space of time, along with antibiotics now as there is a crackle/squeak in the bottom of the lung. She's already on seretide, has anyone else had experience of this, and how did they finally get it under

IMPROVEMENT!
After nearly two years of waiting, I finally got to see a consultant! He gave me various tests and blood tests and came to the conclusion that it's not my bronchiectasis that's the problem, it's my asthma. I'm now taking a Seretide 250 inhaler and feeling a whole lot better. Although still not brilliant

Relvar Ellipta side effects
So, I was taken off of Seretide (using for years without issue). Finished my last inhaler 4 days ago, and am now on Relvar Ellipta. Been on it for 4 days and experiencing a sinus headache for 2 days. No hoarseness and no other issues. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Multiple short courses of steroids for cough
Hi all, My 8 year old suffers from what we think is cough variant asthma. Any viral infection (colds etc) just sets-off a horrible cascading coughing that just gets worse and worse over 3-4 days, until we need to give oral steroids. We often blast him with Ventolin (as much as 8-10 puffs every 4 hrs

Trouble with inhalers
I hope you'll excuse the long tale.I have been using inhalers for COPD for well over 10 years now and up until recently I was using Seretide 500 and Seebri to manage my COPD. Anyway, earlier this year I had a video conference with a consultant from the Royal Brompton Hospital and it was very good and

Do I still have asthma?
Hi,I was diagnosed with asthma some ten years ago after having moved to a new environment. During the first winter, we renovated our "new"house (actually some 15 years old). It was a lot of building dust flying about. One morning on awakening, I had trouble breathing so off I went to the hospital

cataracts b.c. of long-term steroids
Does anyone know what the symptoms of cataracts developing are, after long-term use of inhaled steroids and/or prednisolone? I've heard cataracts are common symptoms, and I wonder how one knows one is developing them. I've been on Trimbow 172.5 for 6 months and on 2 mg prednisone for 2.5 years; prior

Incorrect Hospital Records
Hi, I’ve been having some problems with the respiratory team and requested a copy of my hospital records, which I’ve received. After going through them, there’s lots of information missing and details which are incorrect. I’m a severe asthmatic, and the consultant has now noted “no definitive diagnosis

Any advice?
Hi all, 👋 I was wondering whether some of you lovely people might be able to give me some advice. Apologies in advance for this super long message! 😅 Back in 2017 I had two really bad exacerbations with my asthma, involving lots of pred and antibiotics, which led to me moving from fostair to seretide

Management of Cough Variant Asthma
Hello all, My youngest (almost 8 yo) has Cough Variant Asthma (CVA) and is on Seretide 50 (2 puffs morning + night) and Montelukaust (1 tab) at night. His coughing goes CRAZY when he gets a cold or other upper respiratory infection but he's totally fine outside that (i.e. no wheezing, cough and laboured

fostair to seretide
Hi, following an asthma review prompted by an exacerbation I’ve been moved from fostair 200/6 x 2 twice a day to seretide 125 x 2 twice a day. Started 48 hrs ago and just had a horrible night with coughing @ midnight, 02.00 and 04.00 am. Chest doesn’t feel quite right now but not coughing much. PF normal

Relvar Ellipta?
My asthma is controlled, normal lung function, clear lungs, had severe asthma as a child but as time has gone on my asthma doesn't even present symptoms. Can't remember the last time I used ventolin. I'm 55 yo Male, on seretide, non smoker. So why has my Doctore switched to Relvar Ellipta and what is
