Real-world data suggest antibody positivity to SARS-CoV-2 is associated with a decreased risk of future infection.
Two new studies give encouraging evidence that having COVID-19 may offer some protection against future infections. Researchers found that people who made antibodies to the coronavirus were much less likely to test positive again for up to six months and maybe longer. The results bode well for vaccines

Could SARS-CoV-2 evolve resistance to COVID-19 vaccines?
Similar to bacteria evolving resistance to antibiotics, viruses can evolve resistance to vaccines, and the evolution of
SARS
-CoV-2 could undermine the effectiveness of vaccines that are currently under development, according to a paper published Nov. 9 in the open-access journal PLOS Biology by David

Plant based ALA [alpha-lipoic acid] can weaken COVID-19 infection and maybe even prevent it.
Using ALA with insulin in patients with diabetes shows a synergistic effect against
SARS
-CoV-2. ALA can reduce the viral load by preventing ACE2 upregulation.
SARS
-CoV-2 enters the cell by attaching to angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) like
SARS
-CoV.

Children may transmit coronavirus at the same rate as adults: what we now know about schools and COVID-19
Infections with
SARS
-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, in children are generally much more mild than in adults and easy to overlook.

Mink mutation: vaccination cancellation?
What surprises me is how widespread is
SARS
-COV2 of mink origin in Denmark's human population: about 300 variants, in 1/5 of the country's recorded Covid cases.

Had my x ray results back today. Lungs have not got any worse. Shows slight scarring and sagging causing more mucus
Hi all So had my x ray results back today from my test last week because the one I had in jan showed some slight scarring and atelectasis. Basically the bottom of my lungs drop a bit and produce more mucus or something. Apparently it’s common after a bad chest infection. But anyway it’s not got any

90% efficacy for Pfizer’s COVID-19 mRNA vaccine is striking. But we need to wait for the full data.
German biotech company BioNTech and US pharmaceutical Pfizer announced on Monday promising early results from their phase 3 clinical trial for a vaccine against
SARS
-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. These early results are what is known as an “interim analysis”.

Polyhydramnios
Has anyone had Polyhydramnios? I’m 33 weeks pregnant and my midwife is sending me for another growth scan tomorrow as I have excess growth. I had a growth scan at 31 weeks and was diagnosed with mild Polyhydramnios. But since then my measurements has nearly doubled in 2 weeks and is over the 95th percentile

Hip dysplasia
I know this is a long shot, but is anyone here also diagnosed with hip dysplasia? I’m currently waiting for a laparoscopy to look for signs of endometriosis. I just don’t know if some of my pain might be referred pain from my hips, or if there’s anyone out there who has both. Thank you :)
