Anyone with asthmatic children with adenoid problems?
Hi I am pretty concerned about my son at the moment, he was finally diagnosed as asthmatic in August (after months of being told he has bronchiolitis, viral wheeze and various other things). I still get told repeatedly by registrars that they don't diagnose asthma in under 5s! He has now been put on

Away for the weekend
Came up north for the weekend and managed to forget my salbutamol nebules! Luckily the local pharmacist who I have known since he was born let me have some and said to sort out a prescription next week. The weather is so bad I feel awful and coughing up loads of gunk. Judith

Oh, was that a mistake... :-( My wife complained yesterday that she had been cold at work and couldn't warm up when she got home. So, being nice, I went and turned the gas wall heater up in the bathroom about 5 minutes before she was due in tonight, knowing that she usually goes straight up for a

Symbicort affecting Hyperventilation Syndrome
Hi, I've recently been diagnosed with Hyperventilation Syndrome rather than the difficult asthma it was originally thought I did have (no inhalers helpin that much, some making it worse) and am now finding that when I breathe in deeply and sharply to take my Symbicort it sets off my breathlessness,

I've recently changed from airomir salbutamol inhaler to ventolin salbutamol inhaler (basically cos asda sells ventolin without prescription LOL) The airomir gives me quite noticable shakes which i didn't really mind as a compromise to easier breathing I've been using the ventolin for a couple of

Hello :)
I've spent ages reading the forums - didnt realise they existed until recently! I've been looking for experiences with Xolair, as I have my outpatient appointment at Papworth tomorrow and want to ask them if they will consider it for me. I have severe asthma, with allergies - which I may cope with

Nebulisers
This question has come up a couple of times during the past 24 hours so thought I would write a general post about it. In an ideal world those of us who need to use these machines should get them supplied by our doctors or respiratory teams. There is no such thing as an ideal world unfortunately

Bronchial spasms vs. asthma?
Hi guys, forgive me for the long post, this is my first one and I hope someone can point me in the right direction :) I’ve included a ‘bit’ of history, but I’ll put my questions here so you don’t bet bored reading. I have just been diagnosed with exercise induced bronchial spasms after having two episodes

Having the cold with asthma
Having just taking the cold on Thursday, now struggling with my breathing, seritide not doing much & salbutamol only helping for about 15-20 mins at a time, so now have resorted to inhaling menthol crystals. # hateasthma

My 2.5yr old son has asthma
Hi My 2.5year old son has finally been diagnosed with asthma even though it has been clear to me for almost a year. Only one doctor would agree it was asthma the rest were very reluctant to commit to anything other than wheezy bronchilitis. He has been in hospital 3 times in the past month and his medication

4th Asthma Review at the end of August
Good evening to everyone, Hope everyone is well and it is not to hot that it is affecting your asthma to badly. I am going back to my asthma doctor at the end of next month to discuss my asthma again as it is still up and down, I have had to have at least one course of pred every month since December

Chemist having a bad day
Just been to chemist to pick up nebules of ventollin and saline. Got home to find been given ventollin 5mg nebules and salbutamol nebules 2.5mg in 5mg but no saline nebules... So been back to get them changed, good job I spotted it. Getting a little concerned as this is the second time they have issued
