Constant sneezing and nasal irritation - reaction to Seretide
Hi, New member, first post. I was first diagnosed with asthma in 2008. Ever since I started taking preventer inhalers (I'm now using Seretide 250) I've been sneezing constantly. 30-50 times a day. I'm also constantly full of mucus. Before I was diagnosed, I was coughing all the time. Immediately after

The next step up??
Hi all, Well...I'm moaning about nothing really, and I apologise, but despite taking more Symbicort and salbutamol than I could count, and having singular at night as well, my peak flow is hovering around 350 and I'm feeling pretty rubbish. I saw my GP last Wednesday (about something totally different

Inhaler alert!!
Certain Batches of Ventolin and Asmol Inhalers Recalled by GSK Glaxo SmithKline (GSK) and Alphapharm have voluntarily recalled several batches of Ventolin and Asmol Inhalers due to a fault with the delivery mechanism. This fault is only apparent in a small number of inhalers in each batch. The fault

Frustration over GPs!
I have come onto this forum for the first time today hoping to see I'm not alone! I had to take my just-6 year old to the doctors today as she had a bad night and I was going to nebulise her but realised the nebules were out of date. I left feeling very upset and frustrated that I was once again told

In denial with diagnosis and differing opinions confusing me!
My 3 year old son had frequent 'viral induced wheeze' episodes in his first 18 months which resulted in hospitalisation; nebuliser and steroid. We then saw a private consultant who advised that children with many 'chest infections' are actually asthmatic. Is this really as scientific as a diagnosis

Breathing Techniques Explained
The nebuliser will normally be loaded with
salbutamol
(Ventolin) and Atrovent (
Ipratropium
Bromide).
Salbutamol
works by acting on receptors in the lungs called beta 2 receptors. When salbutamol stimulates these receptors it causes the muscles in the airways to relax.

Reliever or Preventor for Exercise Induced Asthma
I was diagnosed with asthma over 20 years ago and at the time made a decision not to use my brown preventor inhaler. I get exercise induced asthma and use the salbutamol 'reliever' before exercise to prevent any symptoms during activities and I feel I have been pretty well in control of my asthma.

Doxycycline
Doxycycline. Anyone else feel like they cant get a breath out after taking it? As if all your breath is stuck in a fat bubble inside. Not like a burp or wanting to be sick, mine needs a puff or three of salbutamol. Don't think Doxycycline is the one for me. That's a couple of mornings where I've felt

Doc visit after attack?
I feel like a bit of a plonker asking this, but maybe I just need reassuring? Yesterday evening I had an asthma attack, not major - managed to get it under control with Salbutamol after four or five whacks. No big deal, although absolutely no clue what triggered it. Was just getting ready for bed. Then
