Coughing more with salbutamol
Hi my 2 year old had an attack a few days ago I'm waiting to see if we can go into be assessed today as he's on steroids but still coughing the salbutamol seems to making it worse. They've advised to give it every 4 hours but I think it's really irritating him now straight away. Does anyone else experience

Aspergillus?
This year I was exposed to powdery mildew which had affected the hops that I grow in a walled garden. I developed a tight cough, on visiting doctors, then hospital have been diagnosed with kidney cancer metastasized to one lung. In all the hubbub the original cause of the cough seems to elude the doctors

Help so fed up...
Hi All - I have been unwell with what I thought was flu but have now discovered is Bronchitis. On my second lot of steroids and using salbutamol as needed. They want to carry out lung function tests in the next two weeks & see asthma nurse with the results, as there is a suspicion this is adult onset

Unsure of how to approach GP
Hi, I was diagnosed with asthma about 10 years ago, though have used inhalers since being about 8 yo (I'm now 23). I used to have Symbicort but over a year ago had a letter from my GP saying that it had been switched to DuoResp to save money. I have struggled to use the new inhaler even after asking

Peak flow good but SpO2 at 94?
I'm having a really bad time with asthma lately, I've been to A&E a few times but they havne't done much about it. The thing is I don't have the classic wheezing symptoms, but I do feel short of breath, with pain and pressure in my chest. I use my peak meter and pulse oximeter to measure my oxygenation

Adding combivent for prolonged asthma flare
Hi all. New here to the group. I was recently prescribed combivent as an additional inhaler in my arsenal after a wheezing flare that has lasted over 4 weeks. I'm currently taking proair, symbicort and prednisone 20mg twice a day. I'll be finished up with the prednisone in a few days. I also had a steriod

Hi there For background info, I'm 44 and have had asthma since a toddler, which improved as a young adult and then worsened again as I got older. I'm on Flutiform (250, two puffs twice daily), montelukast, salbutamol, cetirizine and recently carbocisteine (for persistent productive cough). Apart from

Alternative to symbicort?
Hello, I've just joined the forum. I've had asthma for over ten years controlled mainly by using salbutamol and clenil plus antihistamines , but this summer it has been much worse because of the high pollen levels. My GP gave me a short course of oral steroids and then changed the clenil to symbicort

14 Chest Infections!
Hi all, It's my first time here so pardon me. I had a really bad chest infection in May 2016 and it took 3 courses of antibiotics along with a trip to A&E due to coughing up blood for it to finally go away. Ever since then I've had constant chest infections. Initially it started off with asthma symptoms

Bisopropol Fumarate and Ventolin Evohaler (salbutamol) possible warning
Well it all started with a chest infection - went to Drs as it wasn't getting any better and was given and Ventolin inhaler and told to use as needed. Dr did ask if I had had one before to which I replied yes as I had - about 10 years ago (this was before I was on betablocker). On the saturday I couldn't

Hi everyone, hoping that someone has advice for me. I have a GP appointment tomorrow (he asked to see me) to discuss the kenalog injections I started a few months ago then stopped after an appointment with his colleague when he was on holiday. Boring background is (according to consultant) severe persistent

First post here! Looking for a bit of advice
Hi :) Sorry for the lengthy post, in advance! Just looking for a bit of advice about my uncontrolled asthma...any opinions or similar stories would be greatly appreciated. I've suffered from allergic asthma (dust) for the past three years, and have seen countless doctors and specialists, only to benefit
