Romiplostim

Does anyone have experience with taking romiplostim (nplate)? Can taking it disqualify you from clinical trials in the future?

I was then on Romiplostim for about 7 months but it had to be discontinued as it caused fibrosis of the bone marrow. I’ve been on 2.5g daily of MMF for the past 3 months and it just started working in the past 7 weeks. My platelets have been fluctuating between 14-30.

I am considering asking my haematologist if I can switch (after being on eltrombopag for 3 months) to Romiplostim. I see from a table showing a summary of treatments for ITP that there is a whole long list of side effects with eltrombopag but nothing significant listed at all for Romiplostim.

This trial constitutes checking bioavailability of Romiplostim, in comparison with Innovator molecule. The drug provided will be free of cost. If you are not responding to steroids, it might just be an option. speak to your doctor and post to me.

The options are ether, Eltrombopag {Revolade Tablets} or Nplate {Romiplostim}. If you are or have tried either of these, I would be grateful if you would let me know what your experience is/was like. In particular I would like to know what the side-effects are/were. Thank you. Rafiq

What's the format for treating with romiplostim. Where I am now they are supposed to call me to tell me my platelet count and discuss dose but they forget to call so I don't know where I am.

hi im coming of steroids and platelet count dropping,might have to have rituximab again but it only kept platelets high for over a year, has anyone had or heard of eltrombopag or romiplostim as consultant is on about trying this on me,apparently its only about 5 years old, regards

She was put on Romiplostim injections but they did not have any effect. She was then given a round of Rituximab and following this her platelet count increased to over 200. The Romiplostim injections were halted. Her platelet count has now increased to over 1600.

I recently stumbled upon a study of 5 dogs conducted in late 2014 and 2015 at a German university where the dogs successfully responded to treatment with romiplostim (Nplate). Any luck with this treatment or any advice on getting financial assistance through the manufacturer with this drug?

Was then put on romiplostim; count bounced around everywhere and I got flu-like symptoms which persisted for a number of months. I was then placed on eltrombopag in September 15. Counts were reaching dizzy heights of 30 which was good for me.

I also have a low platelet count which I get a weekly injection of 240 mgs of ROMIPLOSTIM. Night times is unbearable at times cannot stand the itch in my legs and any sheets touching my legs or feet.  Cannot make any plans because I don't know what the next day will bring.

results, i decided to stop the romiplostim, as soon as i stooped, my platelets started to increase.

Has anyone tried eltrombopag???

Hi still on romiplostim can't seem to get even balance which means I'm going for blood on Wednesdays and ITP clinic on Thursday when my count is going low I have blood when blowing my nose also coughing up blood and small clot on last 2 low countsI wonder has anyone else had this

Hi all had checkup today and so happy to say my count is at 130 at least I have a response now just to be hoped it doesn't go to high

Hi all i have to go back into clinic tomorrow as i have developed blood blisters sure sign eltrombopag has failed consultant said last week they would try romiplostim next wondering if anyone has tried both of these drugs as both make platelets can romiplostim succeed when eltrombopag has failed thanks

I was then put on Romiplostim but it has affected my liver. I am currently attending hospital 4 times a week. I live day to day and find the fear and anxiety very tiring and very draining - has anyone else gone through what I have had to face over the last 15 months?
