Anyone get cramp in their feet/toes and indigestion with having the Romiplostim injection?
The straight answer to your question is I don't know, but I know about unexpected effects of other drugs used for treating ITP. May I suggest that we all report all such side effects to the Yellow Card Scheme (quickly accessed on the Internet). Drug companies will use that information on their lists of possible side effects. For the TPO's this would be very useful where such information is lacking and the long term effects are unknown. If MMF stops working for me then Romiplostim might be the next step and knowing about such possible effects as you ask about would be valuable. Reporting to the YellowCard Scheme is available to patients as well as professionals.Sorry about not answering your question ,but good luck with the TPO which is much better than being iimmunosupressed.
Hi, first time writing in here, lost half way through, rewrite again. I had ITP for abt 2 years and only taken abt 5 mg pred for the first one month. Till now I did not go for any medication but have done my blood test last week, just see how it goes...
Abt the cramps in the feet, I did experience that lately, almost every night or especially after taking raw vegetables or any food with too cooling effect... avoid them. Another thing is, try doing stretching before sleep every night. While in sitting position, make your feet straight and pull your feet against you , make sure the pulling effect is strong enough and you feel your leg muscle pulling strictly ! Trust me, it helps and since then my cramps can be avoided! Otherwise I used to wake up 2-3 times every night from the cramps...
Hi have been on romoplostim since August last year and often get cramp in my feet and toes
My Son suffers with pins and needles and cramps as a symptom of ITP without medication but also gets them with Romiplastim, his whole leg goes dead sometimes too. His Boss at work who tried to get him dismissed because of his illness who had never even heard of ITP one week was a Specialist on it the next told him that pins and needles and cramps had nothing whatsoever to do with ITP and could not be linked, they make me laugh these "Know Nothing, Know it Alls". 😘
