Having a six to seven hour infusion of Rituxan and something else tomorrow.
I'm looking for suggestions as I'll be at the clinic that long and this is my first time getting treatment. I don't know if I can take a laptop, books, if I'll be able to write, or if I will even feel like doing anything except moaning the whole time. Also, if anyone has any experience to the first

How severe were the side effects for you with Rituxan? I have lupus and B cells are destroying platelets, last count 38,000.

Starting 6 rounds of Rituxan Chemotherapy tomorrow
I am 40 yr old with CLL stage VI Lymphoma and stage II Leukemia. This is a very fast decision to start chemo as I had developed symptoms that the doctors can't get under control. Will I lose my hair, will I be able to continue to work???? Questions, questions! Please help!

Hundreds of reasons for Thrombrocytopenia!!!

34 months on a Phase I-b Clinical Trial for Ibrutinib. A day of monitoring at OSU medical center with CLL specialist Dr. John Byrd
A man overhears us relating war stories about surviving
Rituxan
and is incredulous. He has been on R for months and is doing great not realizing that anyone could have a bad reaction to R. Another gal I talk with is an Ibru Lab-rat too and is doing great.

ITP with low red counts.
I mentioned before steroid treatment started 3/20, have been on NPlate and
Rituxan
since and every week all my levels drop. I see some people have had delayed response and I hope that is my case. So are your red counts low?

On my 3rd week of Rituxan and Nplate, every week my plates and red white counts drop. Is this not working?
It seems I should have had improvement by now. WBC - 2.4, RBC - 2.38, Platelets 9k. I had steroids and that didn't work either. In 2012 I had a 6 day nosebleed in the hospital Had several transfusions, nplate and cyclosporin, My platelets went to 80,000 for a brief period. Now I am back to this again

My CLL journey with a bone marrow thingie and FCR thrown in.
Being a 1st time user of the R=
Rituxan
in the FRC I got half my dose by IV on Tuesday (the other half planned for Wed). it was applied slowly, oh soo s l o w l y, during which I was given advise about being complacent regarding side effects. I took it all in and finally was released to go home.

My husband, Rick 66 y, has refractory DLBC Lymphoma. He has had front line and salvage chemos: RCHOP, RICE, GEMOX, HC-VAD, Rituxan/Revlimid.
Rick has just started Treanda/
Rituxan
. After a week enlarged nodes in armpit and groin areas are shrinking. Severe lymphodema in arm and leg is going down rapidly. Would welcome comments, feedback and experiences from those dealing with DLBCL.

To those of you on NPlate, how often is a normal injection, how much and what is the goal set by your doctor as far as count?
Rituxan
, IVIG, platelet transfusions and prednisone were of no real help. I keep reading everyones comments about their count being 20,000 to 50,000 but his Dr keeps giving injections and wants him about 300,000 because about every 10 days it drops to between 17,000 and 60,000.

Biosimilars... Not rituxan, but 'highly similar' to rituxan?
Biosimilar --- WHO definition. 'A biotherapeutic product which is similar in terms of quality, safety and efficacy to an already licensed reference biotherapeutic product.' Dr. Sharman... raises some questions... http://www.cll-nhl.com/2013/06/generic-cancer-drugs-aka-biosimilar.html?m=0#.UcSRmMu9KSM

HUVS
Ask your doctor to try
Rituxan
. It took two doses 1 month apart and I have been spot free now for 4 years. But I did have HUVS for almost 15 years before they diagnosed it so there is quite a bit of damage including skin, bones, joints, and especially lungs. But I am doing well.

Dr Sharman begins blogging on relevant ASCO papers
"...the progression free survival went from 10 months with chlorambucil to 15 months with
rituxan
and 23 months with GA-101. To me that indicates that GA-101 is really doing something new / better than the stalwart rituximab."
