Montelukast Question
Hi I'd like to hear from several users of Montelukast as to how long they feel it took to get an improvement in their symptoms. Hoping to get several answers so I can compare them and arrive at an average time-frame I should expect to wait on any positive results (assuming I'm lucky enough for this drug

leukotriene agonists and 5-lipoxygenase inhibitors
Hi Folks Need to tap into your direct experience of leukotriene agonists and / or 5-lipoxygenase inhibitors. Currently pattern is a need for 5 / 10 Day Oral Steroid Burst about every 4 to 5 Weeks. Thinking about asking my Consultant to give me one of the above if I need to have another Steroid Burst

Pseudoephedrine
This is NOT a suggestion nor a recommendation, but during 2 recent severe asthma attacks (when my salbutamol and Clenil Inhalers were of hardly any benefit) I remembered that - when I was a young kid (before modern asthma medications were around) my GP prescribed ephedrine. Now, because at the time of

Compressed Inhalers
Last few months local pharmacy have been giving me compressed inhalers when I order my Salbutamol. Usually switches between brands Salamol CFC or Air Salb. Can't remember going last time I've been going through so many so quickly. Just wish I could you my old ones. Is this the same in the rest of UK

Reasons why pumpkin should be included in the diet.
Regular consumption of pumpkin is also said to slow down visual decline brought about by conditions like macular disease and
retinitis
pigmentosa (which can lead to blindness), and helps prevents eye cataracts. Have cup of mashed pumpkin each day in order to ensure a steady dose of vitamin A. 2.

Humidifier
Did you know you can make a humidifier to fight your winter colds with your slow-cooker? Just take your slow cooker into the bedroom, fill it with water and add either eucalyptus oil or a dollop of Vicks vaporub. Then, turn it on low with the lid off, and you will wake up breathing much easier.

Hydro vs pred
Hiya. My asthma has been going downhill over the past few days after quite a good stint. Although peak flow is not a good indicator for me, the GP (and AUK nurse) have recommended a course of oral steroids. A couple of years ago I was put on pred and had awful side effects. After that the specialist

Spontaneous Nasal Blockage
At random times of the day I am having sudden blockage of one of my entire nasal passages. More often in the evening hours and primarily on the right nostril. It occurs when I am sitting in a chair and if I lean my head to side for 5 minutes or longer it's as if a "barrier" slowly slides in front of

Rhinocort
Dear community, Sadly, I have hayfever as well as a vulnerability to go into AF. Some nasal decongestant sprays really seem to aggravate my ectopics and potentially AF. Rhinocort, which is a steroid, seems to be OK for me. Has anybody had experiences with nasal sprays?

Thyroid binding globulin
When is it worth testing for Thyroid binding globulin (note: Not thyroglobulin). I am wondering if this could be implicated in why I cant seem to respond to a high dose of T3.
