Hi I’ve just had a stent fitted after a minor heart attack. Was wondering if anyone was having any side effects from medication given? I was hoping to feel better than I do. Indigestion type feelings

Surprise discovery at private angiogram
Cardio Syndrome X was the suspicion - shock discovery yesterday at a private angiogram. 99% blockage so stent surgery done there and then. I had to pay in order to get the treatment as I was considered low risk by the NHS. Anyone experienced similar? I’m home now and expect a full recovery but shocked

Heart Attack Journal
On 20th August, I had a minor heart attack. I've written a couple of posts about it and have mentioned it in various replies. It occurred to me that, instead of a scattering of updates, it would be better to keep it all in one place. Hence this "Journal". My plan is to keep updating this text so that

Ibuprofen gel on blood thinners
Hi - I’m on statins, beta blocker, clopidogrel and aspirin post stent. I’ve been mobile - playing football again. But now have a really painful spot in my foot that’s impacting my exercise (feels like a bruised joint). I want to see if it’s just inflammation and try ibuprofen - but understand it’s

Swapping from Warfarin to Apixaban
This week I am being swapped from Warfarin to being a lifer on Apixaban. I know we are all individuals and we will all have different experiences and side effects but any tips or advice? I am literally in a brain fog as had two DVT's which were unprovoked in my right leg 12 years ago and spent a long

Has anyone ever experienced this?
I had a stent fitted in August 2018 due to coarctation of the aorta. Since around February 2018 I've been experiencing continuous chest pain that get incredibly worse at any given point. I have had more than a dozen trips to A&E due to this all with everything coming back as ok. I went to see my lead

Here we go again
Hello all, I had my last angioplasty in February 2019 and was told it was going to be either 3 stents in the one artery or a large stent (they went for the larger stent. I have 3 arteries stented (one of them was resented 6 months later), I was told after the last stent in February that I have a few

Fed up and still going!
Hi All, loo roll now in freezer as is sudocrem! Just so absolutely fed up with what's happening. I feel weak and concerned, but what can I do until I hear if the sample grows any bugs?. The thing is , everything I eat it goes straight through within minutes! I've tried without eating for 24hrs, omitted

Heart medicine causes acid reflux
Hi All, I had a stent about 2 weeks ago after an angiogram showed an occluded IM. Feeling absolutely normal again and don't seem to be getting any serious side effects from the meds. However, I do seem to be clearing my throat every 30 seconds (my wife is going nuts but trying not to show it!). I am

Exercise after heart attack?
I'm a fairly active 46 year old guy, have done 100km walks and other events in the past. Had a heart attack last week due to blocked artery. Got expert attention (huge thanks to Barts, London) and a stent inserted as well as a bag full of drugs to take home. I think the biggest cause was smoking (

End of life care
My wonderful beautiful dad is now approaching his final days. He would like to come home from hospital but we cannot get care at home because we would need 2 visits per day from a District nurse to administer fluids subcutaneously & our local care service can only provide one visit per day. Please can

New here, post stent x 2...and still working out the kinks..apologies a long story!
As like many here I thought I was fit and healthy with normal blood pressure and cholesterol.... but both my brother and father had heart attacks in their 30's. I made it to 61 before I was taken down by a cream scone!! I couldn't decide if I had indigestion but had mild tingling in my jaw and my heart
