I am awaiting a triple stent intervention - booked for 22.7.19
Fortunately for me this is a down graded treatment as initially I was waiting for a quadruple bypass - but a second opinion and revision of my situation has lead me to stents only for now.
My question's are - Will I still need to have cardio rehab? and what type of medication will I be put on, if any?
Obviously I know that both would follows a bypass, but never thought to ask my surgeon about these points, there was so much other stuff being discussed and all going round in my head, I simply forgot to ask, stupid I know Derrhh !
Any information greatly appreciated.

Wishing you well with your upcoming stents. I had same treatment but after a heart attack so the process may be different.
I was put on tablets for cholesterol, blood pressure and an anti-coagulant (currently Atorvastatin, Losarten and Ticagrelor). I think most use aspirin but I am allergic so still taking Ticagrelor after 2 years.
I was referred initially for hospital based cardiac rehab and then "moved on" to Level 4 rehab at a local gym/leisure centre. I understand from reading posts here that the rehab offering s is not consistent and may vary from area to area. For example, in some areas I think you are only referred for rehab post heart attack. That said, the level 4 classes I attend require only a doctors referral so you could get your GP to assist if the hospital in your area does not offer this service to you.
Thank you Nathan for your information and insights. I hope you are now fully recovered.
Yeah, I'm already on most of the meds. you mentioned, but I think the dosage's will be upped post stent.
Unfortunately, at least in this regard - I am not in the UK - SO wish I was.
I am marooned in Malta, and whilst still in Europe . . . their medical practices and after care, leave a lot to be desired and there really is no beating the NHS at least in my humble opinion.
As I walked to the tube in the rain this morning I would have happily swapped places to find myself somewhere like Malta!
Although you didn't ask for an opinion, I do strongly recommend some form of cardiac rehab; whatever you can find in Malta ! I was very weak after the event but with the help of the rehab have gone from barely getting upstairs to resuming scuba diving and cycling the London to Brighton British Hear Foundation ride a couple of weeks ago.
Not only does it build your physical confidence it does an enormous amount for your sense of well being and gives you some much needed control over your life.
Don't mind hearing your opinion at all, it's all going to contribute to my well being at the end of the day.
Sounds like you have come a long way and have had a really successful recovery.
I would be more than happy to send you as much sun and heat that you could handle LOL
Right now it's 42 degree's and supposedly due to heat up as the week goes by and we haven't even got to July and August yet . . . . Oh joy !!
As you can imagine, this heat is hardly conducive to anyone with a heart, or any other medical condition.
I will try, try being the word, to call the Cardiology Unit in the morning and see if there is any rehab provision, although I already have my doubts but we'll see.
