Time to move on from xtandi? And Ra-223 before jevtana? Thoughts?
Hi everyone, My father just switched his MO ( due to insurance issues) he is currently on xtandi His bone scans are stable but his PSA is going up. (From 16 to 20 in a month) His new MO says we can be proactive and mentioned starting him on Radium 223 and possibly provenge before we move on to jevtana

Chapter 17. I dream of the revolution that must come... 2/2.
This is chapter 17 of a book I published in 2015, "A Different Way of Looking at Parkinson's. Almost 20 years of experience with my father's disease (1994-2012)" (only in Spanish). Although we have learned a lot more since that year, I think it can still be useful to most sufferers and family members

Update
Hi everyone! Just wanted to update you how I am doing. I am doing the best I ever have. I started taking methylated b vitamins because my body does not absorb folate. I forgave people I didn't realize I could, and surrendered to a higher power. I know this sounds cliché. If anyone wants to message

If people knew... what Parkinson's is.
If people knew how hard, how very hard Parkinson's can be, it would help us spread this information. Okay, not all of it, but not even vitamin B9 to control the neurotoxic homocysteine, just the right amount of vitamin B6 in 10-25 mg per day as indicated in the levodopa prospectus, or vitamin D to prevent

Hey everybody. I could use some advice.
I just realized something both amazing and shocking that I have been through. It's a long story. I will try to sum it up. I believe I have been misdiagnosed. I recently had a genetic test and found out I have a gene mutation that can mimic bipolar disorder among other things. It is called the MTHFR

PSA tests--Total vs. Ultrasensitive after radical prostatectomy
It has been ten years since I had a radical prostatectomy (with negative margins). At my surgeon's suggestion, I have had yearly "total" PSA tests since then but not since 2019 so I'm overdue. The results so far have always been reported as <0.1 ng/mL without knowing what, if anything, is happening

MTHFR - how to increase ferritin?
Hi! I'm brand new here. I have learned so much reading over some other posts on this message board, thanks already! I've finally gotten on what I believe to be the right dosage of NDT for my Hashimoto's after 6 years of ups and downs. I'm currently on 160mg of Armour Thyroid and have a Free T3 at 3.8

Preparing for thyroid tests
Hello. I am going to have my full thyroid test done next week. I understand that I need to be fasting, and not to take Levo for 24 hours prior to the test. What about liothyronine? Do I need to wait 24 hours ? Also take vitamin B 6, B 12 and B 1 and iron. Should I stop taking these vitamins 24 hours

Moving on to Provenge
Been a long time since I posted. I’ve been in a clinical trial that began in 2014, that was to study the use of TAK-700 with Eligard/Lupron vs the SOC (Eligard/Lupron) plus daily bicalutamide. It has served me well, as I’ve been in the SOC arm, and have made it 6.5 years with just small increases in

The importance of vitamin B6 against Parkinson's. The end of a meaningless prejudice since 1975.
A restriction or prohibition that has survived almost 50 years (1975-2020) without any scientific reason since levodopa was linked to carbidopa or benserazide. by Jesus Marquez Rivera Project "Parkinsons Here and Now" (2012-2021) "What is Science? Help before consultant appt on blood results
Hi all Following my last blood results my GP referred me to an Endo who in the first appointment last month suggested I might benefit from T3 (great potentially!) I was at the time feeling a bit of chest tightness so he reduced my levo down from 150mcg to 125mcg, and sent me off for a retest in a month

Multivitamins or individual - recommendations?
Hi all I hope you’re doing well. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for a good multi vit containing ferritin, folate and selenium or am I better off using individual? Do you have recommendations for good ones? I’ve been using vitamin B complex (ignneus super b) for the last 2 months but haven

Should I push harder for tests to rule out essential thrombocythemia?
I have a complex medical history, mixed connective tissue disease, RA, eosiniophilc esophagitis, hypopituitarism, adrenal insufficiency, exercise anaphylaxis, a bunch of things that are unrelated, some serious, some annoyances. I have extremely high bone density, so have degenerative spinal disease
