How long do side effects last after stopping using inhalers
I switched over from Flixotide to
Qvar
10 days ago to check if my burning back pain is related to flixotide. My asthma seems to be less controlled on
Qvar
so I will probably need to go back on Flixotide.

Has anyone been switched from QVAR to Kelhale?
Today I received a letter saying they are switching my inhaler to the cheaper brand but am I within my rights to ask to stay on
QVAR
? I'm reluctant to change especially after finding a brand that works really well for me. Thank you!

Spacer for Qvar
Hi I am trying to find a spacer for
Qvar
inhaler ( with a round nozzle), Google suggested Aerochamber plus but it seems to have an oval nozzle. Anybody using it with a spacer? Thanks

Qvar question
Increasing the

Qvar
helped more. My question is this.

Do I need to be more patient?
I’ve been diagnosed with serve allergic asthma on Omalizumab, Fostair 200/6 2bd &
qvar
100 4 puffs twice a day, ventolin as required. On montelukast, carbocestine, fexodenadine, various nasal drops. Had a flare up two weeks ago & had to attend a&E twice despite having 40 mg prednisone for 5 days.

What is the difference between Pulmicort and Qvar? Is one stronger than the other?
Is Pulmicort Turbhaler 200 2 x a day a higher dose for Asthma than
Qvar
100 2 x a day ? I have been changed to this after three years on
Qvar
but then feeling bad last few weeks due to pollen I think.

Better at night?
The breathlessness never went away, and I was given salbutamol which worked most of the time and
Qvar
(beclometasone) but I still had that chest tightness and horrid, intense itching in my lungs.

New diagnosis, working on getting meds right
I've been on
Qvar
50 2 puffs twice a day since mid-May, and I finally got to actually see the respiratory nurse for the first time since March, and she's increased it to 3 puffs twice a day. I feel so much better! My boss told me today that I had my sparkle back - haha.

Diagnosis - asthma
Rather than trying to wean myself OFF the
Qvar
, I've had my dose increased for a couple of weeks before reviewing. Fingers crossed that this is the answer.

My Asthma preventive inhaler has been changed and the new one has made me feel worse after taking it for about two hours each time
I had been taking
Qvar
100 twice a day preventative inhaler for three years after not being on any asthma meds for over twenty years and then in the last few weeks I felt bad after I had taken it and it didn’t seem to help anymore.

Coming off Qvar?
One GP said I could come off
Qvar
any time, no need to wean, as I'm on a low dose;
Qvar
50, 2 puffs twice a day. It took 3 or 4 weeks for it to kick in properly in the first place. If I stop it, does anyone know what kind of timescale I should expect to know if I still need it?

Silent reflux or asthma?
I rang my GP to find out about renewing or stopping the
Qvar
but also to say that this isn't changing. He said to carry on the same until I "bore it" and it goes away.

isn't helping...?

Reducing QVAR Dose
I was going to ask about it at my next review, as I am on
Qvar
100 but for the last year I've reduced to one puff twice a day (at the advice of a previous review). Thanks! Steph

Desloratidine side effects?
(Post-viral breathlessness for 10 weeks, not diagnosed with asthma,
Qvar
week 3 & salbutamol as required, which is quite a lot right now)

Clenil or Qvar
I know that they are more or less the same,
Qvar
is finer, doesn’t taste as disgusting as Clenil and I take one puff morning and night as opposed to two puffs morning and night with Clenil I’m finding into my second week on
Qvar
that my chest feels tight, I’ve woken up twice during the night and done
