I don't use this inhaler but just wanted to ask if this is an ongoing problem or just this time? it could be a defective inhaler but if not then definitely get in touch with your gp about it. Hope you get some help.
I did take a powder type for about a month during the lockdown when my usual wasn't available and I didn't like it personally. It could have been a coincidence but I got a horrible sore chest when on it and its gone now I'm back to my normal one, the doctors were convinced it wasn't the inhaler but is gone so must have been.
I'm on dry powder inhalers and every now and again there's no powder in the dose. So I just reload and try again. They can be difficult if you're short of breath as they are breath activated & we don't have the option of using a spacer.
If I'm struggling breath wise, I'll take Ventolin first, wait 20 minutes then take my preventer and LAMA in order to be able to breath in well.
But if your inhaler is just not delivering any powder take it back to the pharmacy and talk to the pharmacist. They need to feedback to the drug company and replace the inhaler for you.
I was referred last year to a respiratory physio to help me improve my inhaler technique. It has helped.
The Redihaler Qvar......the cap reloading is the problem. Nothing suppose to come out till you breath in. Both the 80 and 40 malfunction on me. Each time you open the cap....the medication come out. Did get a replacement but had to contact Teva.... the manufacturer of Qvar.
