Think qvar redinhalers is available in the US but not in UK. I am the UK so can't advise on the ~Redinhaler.

I have Qvar (not breathe activated), I use with a aerochamber. Here in UK though it is being replaced by Kellhale, a more cost effective alternative - same drug.

Perhaps post the query on a USA based forum, regarding the Redinhaler.

Personally no experience of symbicort, but I am sure others here will have.

I do think though the majority may not suit every individual :)

Hi Bkin, the thought of Qvar being replaced worries me.

It’s taken a time to find a preventer that helps me , my last preventer was Clenil which gave me terrible nightmares .

My neighbour uses Symbicort and is fine with it, they tried to change it to Fostair which wasn’t effective for her. Others find it good, we are all different .

Kellhale the replacement of Qvar is actually the same drug Beclometasone dipropionate but something has to be different I guess because NHS are changing to this as its cheaper. I've had my Kellhale for a couple of months, not used it yet because I am still using up my stock of Qvar. Certainly if it doesn't work as well for me or causes other probs I am going to request going back to Qvar.

I take Qvar , but it’s the inhaler with a propellant not breath activated . I use it with an aerochamber spacer.

It works well for me, I have tried many different inhalers, combination ones do not suit me at all . I tried Combivent , but that didn’t suit me either.
