I'm at the end of my teather..… I'm constantly coughing, bringing up phlegm its embarrassing! I'm 35 I've worked all of my life up until July last year after being forced to resign due to some days being unable to leave my home! I wake up 3-4 times a night coughing up phlegm until I have nothing left

Hospital visit
The visit to Southmead was good in a funny sort of way. I saw the consultant who was very kind, friendly, and knowledgeable, and he finally gave a comprehensive diagnosis. Yes I do have bronchiectasis but I also have obliteritive bronchiolitis. He has put me back on a steroid inhaler, QVAR, which has

Qvar And Fluticasone Inhalers
Hi Folks My question is, if you use - or have used - a Qvar or Fluticasone Inhaler (of the type that only delivers the fine particle steroid but not a LABA component) how do you (did you) get on with it? Any observations on side effects or other issues with those devices? I'm currently using both Clenil

Maybe it's not asthma?
I have posted on here a few times - my symptoms started early 2015, inability to exercise - I used to run a lot but really began to struggle. I persevered until August as whatever it was ruined my holiday - struggling for breath, coughing stuff up day and night. On returning home I made an appointment

I just want to be normal again - anxiety, asthma, acid reflux, or something else?
So, I could use a place for support and a place to run through everything. I guess I'll start with a few years back I moved to a new state and developed bad allergies. I mean sneezing twenty times in a row multiple times a day. Some weeks were worse than others but generally it was just annoying and

Intro & 2-Year Journey
Hi everyone. I am a new in this community group. Just want to say "Hi" and share a little experience about how important to stay up-to-date about your condition and knowledge before heading to doctor office. This can make sure that you ask the right question and hit the target. I was having nasal allergy

Advice Needed - Test result. IgE 1142, precipitin positive, other severe illnesses, no treatment?
Hello, Apologies in advance for the length of this post! As per my title, I would greatly appreciate some informed advice regarding a test result. Read extensively on aspergillus and my other medical conditions, but what I have read seems to contradict with the advice I am receiving from my GP + respiratory

Want to know more about symbicort. Is it working for you? Recently just change from Qvar to symbicort.
I'm kind of fearful in taking this inhaler of all the bad reviews I've read. Would be great if anyone can post on their experience and opinion with this inhaler. Specially long term. ....thanks

Productive attack
Had my worst attack to date on Friday morning, ended up in ITU for the night aminophylline ( if that is how you spell it) drip. The physio who came round the ward on Sunday said she could hear my breathing down the corridor when I was admitted into resus so I must have been rather wheezy! However it

I have been on sere tide 250 nearly 10 years, without many problems, but my inhaler was then changed to fostair. This gave me terrible leg cramps in the night, it was then changed to qvar which gave me muscle pain, and a continuous cough . I asked for my old inhaler back to which the Gp said yes and

Seretide
I was on Seretide 100 for quite a few years and it kept my asthma under control. For no reason I was changed to Qvar 100 which definitely is not as good as Seretide. I feel tight chested and my asthma does not seem as well controlled. I asked my doctor if I could go back on Seretide and he said there

Spiriva
So as well as being on Qvar and Fostair my consultant has put me on Spiriva. Anyone else use this? The nurse at my surgery said she hadn't heard of anyone being on this amount of preventer before for asthma. (I'm also on montelukast and 40mg of preds) Still wheezy 😱

Asthma
I have had Asthma since the age of 40, I have it well controlled by following the advice from the Asthma Nurse in my local Doctors surgery. The medication that I use is Qvar inhaler 1 puff twice daily ad Serevent inhaler 2 puffs twice a day. I have not had a asthma problem for avery long time and asthma

Inhalers 😊
Good day everyone wanted to ask you about inhalers. All of you seem to be using them. I am moderate copd. I don't used inhalers. My Dr. says if I don't have trouble breathing, why would I use one. That always made sense to me. I do have the qvar inhaler. I use that for a couple days, if I get wheezy

Pharmacy followup phone call & Is it still considered 'mild' asthma?
I have just been prescribed Flutiform 125, 2 puffs twice a day as my asthma wasn't sufficiently controlled on the preventer alone (previously 400mcg-800mcg per day of Qvar for the last 3 months or so). We discussed the results of my reversibility testing previously done and also my peak flow readings

Recovery time in hospital?
When I end up in hospital , it seems to take about two weeks to recover enough to go home, usually a week on very regular nebs and iv aminophylline then reducing nebs but still needed. Already on symbicort, uniphyllin, qvar, spiriva, cetirizine, montelukast and azithromycin so they can't step up with

Update on Vit C & Ozonetherapy
Hi again. I have just completed three week course of combined ozone & Vit C efflusions. It meant that I had to stay away from home as it is a two hour drive to Tywford where the clinic is situated. Decided to spoil myself a little and instead of doing Bed & breakfast I rented a darling little character
