ADT or not?
Hi, i have Stage 4 PCA, Gleason 5+4 so I am on Degaralix and Enzalutamide. I tend to refer to this treatment as ADT as shorthand because to my mind they both reduce testosterone. I wonder if I’m misusing ADT or does it matter?

UserName Change Search Link
I just changed my username name from the impersonal "JHMX" to "JohnInTheMiddle". Among other things I liked the TV show Malcolm in the Middle. And when I signed up it was in that kind of crazy time of DX that many people here will recognize. But as I become familiar with the stories and exploration here

ADT duration data measures
odd query but when reading studies and research on ADT duration they refer to months or years - I am curious as the implants are often prescribed monthly or 3 monthly but that actually means 4 weekly or 12 weekly with such ADT as goserelin - so are the studies that say 4, 6, 18, 24, 36 months referring

never loose hope upping NDT!!
bit of back story, I have been on 1 grain of NDT for 3.5 years (with added t4). Every time I upped 1/4 grain I would get hyper symptoms and it would push my t3 over range. So I had no choice but to add levo in (tirosint). T4 seems to make me feel worse and worse the higher I go in doses with extreme

Orgovyx Insurance Approval
Anyone who is not on Medicare but relying on private insurance in getting approval for Orgovyx? I really want to avoid Lupron or Eligard since I take two blood pressure meds, one statin and Metformin for type 2 diabetes already. Plus, I have heard nothing but bad things about both. Yes, I realize

Ten Months After All Treatments Ended
My Oncologist stopped my Eligard injections in October of 2022. My August 2023 bloodwork shows that my testosterone has risen from 2.0 to 10.0 in that time. My PSA was <0.1 ten months ago and is now 0.1 (Canadian units). I know that this cancer is a long game, but given my diagnosis in 2020, I am happy

... what, then, do we die of?
New study of SEER data below [1]. The old comforting words that men with PCa "die with the disease, not of it" does not apply once mets occur, of course, but is largely true for local disease (the majority of cases in the U.S., due to screening practices.) It has long been known that men with PCa

how fit can one be on ADT and abiraterone?
I have been on Lupron and abiraterone for less than two months and I have gone from doing 50 consecutive push ips to 10. I am slim on KETO diet but am disenchanted with the lack of ability to maintain any muscle. How much strength can be maintained on these meds?

T3 monotherapy people
Just a quick question for those on T3 only out of curiosity - what is your overall dose, your split dose (if any) and how long did it take you to get there? I know it’s different for everyone but would be interesting to see how others work their dosing ☺️ So far gradually up to 65mcg, definitely

Is it the NDT (Thailand)
Have taken 2.5 grains NDT for many years. Recently started suffering from burning feet pads and tongue swelling late evening. Have noticed that the batch number for the NDT I currently take was hi-lighted for some reason on a facebook page but cannot find the page and reason why. The GP has referred

Started MRI Guided SBRT at MSK
After 2.5 years on active surveillance with Dr. Ehdaie at Memorial Sloan Kettering, my cancer progressed to GL 4+3 (Unfavorable Intermediate Risk) and I needed definitive treatment. I opted for MRI guided SBRT with Dr. Sean McBride after getting a second opinion from Dr. Kishan at UCLA. I started

Need help in understanding PSA level recurrence after treatment.
In May 2023 I completed what the doctor hope would be a curative treatment of 38 sessions of radiotherapy accompanied by 2.25 years on Lupron + Zytiga. During that treatment, my PSA fell to < 0.01 and remained there until the end of the treatment. I had a blood test taken last Friday and it shows that

Erleada side effects
Would like to hear from those with personal experience that have added Erleada to ADT ( Lupron, Firmagon, Orgovyx). What additional side effects did you experience ( fatigue, cognitive, lab test changes, rash, etc). Not looking for studies or drug mfg info, I'm able to look at that. Want to hear real

QOL … how about a fun lighthearted uplifting post about “ manziers “ …
manziers …. Love ‘em ….hate them. Don’t use one , never thought about it ? Most of men here have big man boobs, some of us giant boobs … some have had them reduced / controlled with shots or radiation. If you are a male member of this group, you probably have had this issue on your mind more than

iron test results help please
I must admit that even after a few years, while I mostly understand my thyroid test results, my iron tests continue to confuse me - I just can’t seem to get my head around the significance of the different parts. So I wondered if someone who actually understands could please explain in really simple

Intermittent ADT
Hi all,I am wondering what are your views on intermittent ADT? PSMA Pet scan has revealed one met in my ribs...it was treated with SBRT. I was given a 3 month Lupron shot which reduces my PSA to 0.24 ug/l. I'm considering going on IADT....6 months of ADT followed by 6 months break and repeat. Anyone
