Lightheaded 24/7
I am a 33 yr old female with a PhD in psychology. 1 year ago I had a dental cleaning and developed chest pain and palpitations shortly after. I had blood cultures and echos to rule out endocarditis. I also developed loose stool which prompted a GI workup (endoscopy and colonoscopy) which were negative

Weird Sleep Thing Going On
Hi all, I have a strange sleep thing going on that I want to run by you guys to see if anyone recognises it. When I try and sleep as I am making the transition from awake to asleep it like my body forgets to breathe, I awaken with a jolt and my heart is pounding out of my chest. This also happens when

New Heart Symptoms
Hi everyone. I am having some weird new Heart symptoms. I have had pvcs and pacs as well as inappropriate sinus tach. I've learned to accept that these aren't harmful, and I'm not afraid of them anymore. Now I'm having spells in which it feels as though my pulse gets very faint and beats very fast for

About the Microlife digital peak flow
I just bought a manual digital peak flow from Microlife to measure my fev1 for copd. I tried it and it shows values higher than the doctor's office. I wonder if someone has experience with it and can you please tell me if they accurate compare with other more professional spirometers. Am I wasting my

What is CRDS?
I was seen by a consultant in April and having not received the feedback which he promised, I have just been to my surgery to find out if anything had been received there. Indeed they had received a letter the day after my appointment with the consultant. The letter confirmed "an FEV1 of 0/81 and FVC

VATS Lobectomy looming....
Well, all going well, this time next week I'll be minus 20% of my lungs. It's all happened really quickly after a very severe infection in January, the wheels were set in motion with the same surgeon who implanted my valves (they didn't work :( ) last year. Now it's LVRS (lung volume reduction surgery

Hi everyone! I was diagnosed with COPD last August. My spirometry results were FEV1 2.81ml. My doctor told me it is mild
I went back today for another spirometry and it was 2.54 ml. I am very concerned since the dropping seems significant. Can it be possible to go down from 2.81 ml to 2.54ml in just 8 months?

Peak flow reading.
Morning everyone, just a quickie. My Peak flow reading is always 370 morning noon and night, before and after exercise. I'm stage 1 bullous emphysema with fev1 81% not on any medication. Last Ct scan was back in 2012, I take it if my copd progress then my Peak flow will decline? Is 370 good?

The good Doc
He is a good doc from all other experiences and hearsays about him, but having finally got my first lung test results back I had to shorten the appointment because of some doubts. I asked what my fev1 was and he said 52% because 4 months ago it was 83%. He checked the records and said it was 63% then

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum and so I thought I'd share my story. I'm 44 and was diagnosed with mild COPDlast year in February after a routine work medical spirometry test showed my ratio of 63% and fev1 of 93% (I think that's what the figures are called) then after a course of steroids through
