COPD medication
Hi all My Dad 86yrs has recently been diagnosed with COPD. He’s absolutely fine sitting down , he’s chatty & can still sing. He has 2 inhalers ( ventolin. & a once a day bronchial inhaler) They don’t seem to be doing any good. He can just about walk 10 steps before he so short of breath he’s almost collapsed

Is it really asthma? Can’t stop coughing
Hello everyone Been coughing since December, GP says it’s asthma. I’m on ventolin and clenil inhalers, omeprazole (in case it’s acid reflux) and the latest montelukast 10mg. I’m taking my hay fever medication fenofexadine 180mg and mometasone nasal spray. I also take Vit D 3000iu when I remember. The

LUPUS AND ILD
Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a lovely holiday weekend. I was diagnosed with SLE in 1997 and developed ILD 2 years ago and I have developed this terrible cough which is getting worse everyday. Some times I will have a coughing fit for up to 30 minutes and sometimes longer until I get sick

Reliever Inhalers?
I just recently got an official diagnosis of asthma, which was quite nice, because I now finally know what’s wrong with me! But now, I’m starting to have doubts again. I recently got prescribed a reliever inhaler, and I use it when I get nasty wheezing, and it hasn’t been helping much! It feels like

Anybody suffers from seasonal asthma and use inhaler on demand?
I suffer from seasonal winter asthma. Currently on mart regimen fostair nexthaler 100/6 twice a day. Previously was on becotide twice a day and ventolin as required. I usually stopped taking them before summer and start again beginning of autumn. My mum told me this combi should be taken all year round

Too nervous to exercise
I have copd during the first lockdown I took the government advice and shielded. I returned to work once we were allowed out again and never shielded again for my mental health. Since coming out of the first lockdown I haven't exercised at all. Before lockdown I was doing my 10,000 + steps a day but

I am aware that no one is medically qualified but would just like to know your thoughts on the below: I was ill with pneumonia like symptoms and then recovered sort of and 6 months later had more chest issue's or breathing issue's. Question about covid vaccine for uncontrolled asthma
Hi guys, This is my first post so sorry if this has been asked several times (which it probably has been recently!) I know there is loads of uncertainty regarding asthmatics getting the jab but if you could give me some advice that would be great? First off, I live in Northern Ireland and apparently

Glaucoma and Asthma
Are there many members with glaucoma that also have asthma and take steroid inhalers (preventatives). I am scared that these inhalers are worsening my glaucoma. I have reduced them from 2 puffs twice a day to 1 puff twice a day but nobody seems to know if these inhalers caused my glaucoma. Are there

Have run out of fostair nexthaler 100/6
I thought I had a spare canister but just found out I have run out. Since it is Easter bank holiday I am hoping I will be able to manage until I get a prescription on Monday. Previously when I was on becotide I usually stopped taking it about this time but due to covid I have been taking it regularly

Hi All Not sure if this is asthma or not? Coughing, starts as a tickle then I get mucus, sometimes cough up frothy spit I'm coughing that much I'm nearly sick, it gets worse at night, I'm on steroid inhaler twice a day but it doesn't seem to be working as I'm still using the blue one too much, 8 puffs

Asthma harder to control after switching inhalers
Hi, After reading a recent post it started me wondering if the reason my asthma flared up again, a couple of months after switching inhalers and has been difficult to control since, is because the switch wasn’t equivalent to what I was taking before. 🤔 For years I had been on a high dose: 2 puffs

Husband's COPD getting much worse - needs help
I apologise in advance for the length of this post but I am desperate and lost. Any advice is welcome. My husband has severe COPD and I am really concerned about him. He is 52 and was diagnosed several years ago. He still smokes around one cigarette’s worth of tobacco a day but is increasingly struggling

Ongoing infections and asthma
I have had bronchitis/chest infection/sinus infection on and off since November which has caused my asthma to flare up. I improve for a couple weeks and then become unwell again. I've had 3 courses of steroids since November, doxycycline twice, azithromycin once and now on amoxicillin. I have several

Might not be asthma
Hi, new here. I’m seeking some ideas here. I’ve been treated for asthma for over 20 years. I’ve had new inhalers recently but resorted to ones I’ve been taking for some time. In December I became unwell. My go gave me prednisone for a week. That did nothing. He diagnosed a virus (not covid). Still struggling

Bronchial Spasm
Last night was a bit of a scare for us. John started not being able to breath. (He has MSA-C). He had an episode in the morning as he woke, where he couldn't get a breath, i ran and grabbed his inhaler (not knowing what was going on, as I had been in the other room. He took a puff, and within 30-40

Given lower dose of preventer
Hi all, me again! I picked up a new inhaler today and used it this evening. After I used it I realised it is a lower dose than my old inhaler which has confused me because I was told I’d be getting a stronger one. I was on clenil 200 “puffer” 2 puffs, 2x a day; new inhaler is fostair 100/6 powder 1 dose
