Hypothyroid with Hashimoto’s now primary Hyperparathyroidism as well. Anyone else in this boat??
So last week I went to have a blood test at the GP to check my thyroid levels (or so I believed). However when I got the results back there was no thyroid check done, instead I had results for the following; Serum parathyroid hormone 13.8 pmol/L ( 1.6 - 7.2) Plasma calcium level 2.66 mmol/L normal range

Update on statins for me
Well I’ve tried yet another statin and still have bad side effects. Saw GP today who has referred me to a Lipid Group for advice on other statins and other ways to prevent another heart attack. I’ve been referred to an endocrinologist because of my high parathyroid hormone levels and my GP has asked

New to The Group with Some Questions
A recent couple lab tests showed that my
PTH
level is high. Is this common in people with CKD? I'm concerned. Thanks in advance for your comments. Dave

Creatinine vs gfr
I asked him in my last two meetings why my
pth
was so high and now he has asked for it to be checked only every three months instead of monthly. If it’s high shouldn’t it be something we look at at a regular basis?

Coimbra Protocol 3
If it’s low at all, ask for
PTH
test. That needs to be low on the spectrum for your immune system to be in check. Parkinson’s is an autoimune disease. Your parathyroid hormone regulates your immune system. Big Pharma knows that. Why don’t they look into it?

Hyperparathyroidism??
My question: how can I test that one of my parathyroid glands is (or is not) overactive (hyperparathyroidism) and therefore makin too much
PTH
hormone which then causes our bones to release calcium constantly into the blood stream.

Which blood tests?
I do have a check for calcium/
PTH
and of course thyroid panel, but I know there are a lot more things that are necessary for optimal thyroid function. Thank you

High doses of Vitamin D DECREASES bone mineral density
Vitamin D is a steroid (not a true vitamin). Steroids have wide-ranging effects on the body and interact with other steroids/hormones. In this case, they suspect that high dose Vitamin D suppresses parathyroid hormone. Higher doses (up to 10,000 iu/day) resulted in a decrease in bone mineral density

GRAVES AND THYROTOXICOSIS : SKELETON AND CALCIUM METABOLISM
Two exceptional cases have been reported with coincident thyrotoxicosis and hypercalcemia with elevated
PTH
levels. Treatment of thyrotoxicosis eliminated all abnormalities, for reasons unknown. [322].

Endocrinologist insist that my blood work shows thyrotoxicosis. Please take a look.
PTH
& ACTH are pending. How does these impact my well-being. I’m scared i’m going to be more ill if they try to reduce my dosage. I’m 64 years old. Can anyone suggest what my dosage should be, taking into consideration my recent blood work. Thanks to all.
