"Two Invitae CHEK2 variants of "unknown consequence""
Hello - My Hopkins MO says this genetics test indicates a weakness (CHEK2 is one of the 4 or 5 PCa related variants) he thinks this could have contributed to my premature, two year BCR after RP, so he will likely prescribe chemo sooner than later though
PSA
will be the prime indicator.

Sufficient Investigation?
The GP was reluctant to give him his
PSA
result and said it was too soon after his obstructive episode. About 2 months ago he found from the nurse taking blood that a prior
PSA
was 8. That is the only result he has had.

If I heard this 5 years ago, I could have saved my life

psa
over 1,(under 50y/o) or 1.5 (over 50y/o) demand routine
psa
tests to watch, despite the “standard clinical normal range” of 0-3.9. Something is wrong and it’s not ok to go home and think everything is ok.

Radiation Question
PSA
test sent me into this journey about 8 mos ago, Gleason 6-7-8s, good PSMA PET/CT did not show uptake outside of the prostate, 6 mos now on Abiraterone and Zytiga brought
PSA
to .31, now suggesting radiation, went to see RO and they want to start right away, 8 weeks x-ray type to include abdomen in

What’s after Lu-177 in Vancouver, BC?
PSA
decreased considerably after the first Lu-177 infusion but sense then it’s been climbing slowly (~4.00 currently). What’s next? I’m his eldest daughter, 27, and I just can’t bear to see him in this position. I feel hopeless and devastated.

Radiation Confusion- please help clarify
It was explained and I thought I understood but am now completely confused - scans (PSMA, MRI, CT and bone scan) showed activity in prostate, SV, and one spot on pelvic bone
PSA
undetectable .

When Should I Be Concerned About My PSA
PSA
after treatment. I've had a few bounces and even though I was told
PSA
bounces were to be expected, it's been about three years and seven months. When looking at my most recent
PSA
, you'll notice it went up again. So, my question is this recent
PSA
something I should be concerned about?

Will Estradiol 0.025 patch for hot flushes cause cancer to come out of hiding?
He finally is 7 weeks past last chemo and his
PSA

How do we determine if cancer is in remission
Is the only method of determining my health status, with regard to the cancer in the future, my
Psa
test?

Newly Diagnosed with High Cholesterol
I’m an otherwise healthy 53 year old who had a
PSA
blood test, and while that was thankfully clear, I was told I had high cholesterol (above 7.5). I’ve been put on a statin and have started a healthy eating and increased exercise regime.

Perineum Irritation / Pain
I was tested on day 8 and my
PSA
had already fallen from 8.7 to 2.78. I had been feeling very good with virtually no side effects. My problem is I’ve had this irritation of the perineum for a month or more. It started as a “tingling” feeling, progressed to a burn, now more of a pain.

My most recent PSMA scan showed further progression of metastasis in bone and lymph nodes and my
PSA
has increased fairly rapidly. Currently taking both Orgovyx & Nubeqa. I'm hoping some of the smart and well versed members might weigh in. Thanks

What next after Docetaxel...?
Meanwhile, the
PSA
has risen to 115 before a kidney issue and to about 350 just before Chemo.

PSA 4.5, 9% free PSA, 65 yo
Semiannual
PSA
tests have been 2.2-3.8, very weak upward trend. MRI last April was neg. Latest reading was 4.5 ng/ml, free
PSA
9%. First time urologist has mentioned free
PSA
. He recommends another MRI in April '24. Consensus guidance seems to be that biopsy is indicated if free
PSA
<10%.
