Does this mark the beginning of castration resistance?
My dad's

at diagnosis was 150. He is 64. Since May 2023, dad has been on monthly Degarelix (Firmagon) injections and on a regime of 160 mg of Enzalutamide daily (Xtandi). His
PSA
reached a nadir of 0.02 in March 2024.

Testosterone was slowly recovering after stopping all meds 8/10/2023 then started dropping!
The plan was to use Xtandi mono therapy in order to maintain testosterone so hopefully hemoglobin would rise and
PSA
would decline.

PSA Score Doubling / Lab Error?
So, my prostate is not going to ever generate a lot of
PSA
on an absolute scale. However, a doubling of
PSA
at any level is concerning when cancer is already diagnosed in the patient.

All
PSA
testing from oncologist has ranged from .04 to .05. Why not have my internist take my
PSA
yearly? Or is going to my oncologist for testing the better way to go?

Pluvicto Question
Also
PSA
went down just slightly after infusion number two but went up a little from
PSA
after number two and now after number three.
PSA
Jan 9 30.85 ng/mL Feb 9 27.48 ng/mL and now Feb 28 30.689 not a huge increase but shouldn't it be goining steadily down if Pluvicto is successful?

Dutasteride Monotherapy is effective for Newly Diagnosed PCa men not on ADT
Dutasteride monotherapy (0.5 mg/day) causes an average drop in
PSA
of about 50% in both Groups, and an average drop of about 20% in prostate volume. In one man, his
PSA
dropped from 43 to 3 (a 93% drop)!

Is a false-positive biopsy possible?
As a result, for the last 13 years, I've had my
PSA
checked every six months. I typically run a very low
PSA
, historically .5 or .6. About 18 months ago I noticed that my
PSA
was rising, from .63, then .75, then .89, and then in September, it was .97.

When he was diagnosed in May 2022 his

Active Surveillance?
I have had 2 biopsies and 5 MRI's and countless
PSA

PSA
has risen from 3.9 in 2018 to 12.7 and back to 11 this year.

rising PSA and 'light' advancement of mets in hip bones. Diagnosed stage 4 in March 2021.
ADT dropped the
PSA
quite a bit. We started seeing Dr. George at Duke March of 2023 and he had my husband on a round of docetaxel. After that the many bone mets and some on lungs 'disappeared'. Now it looks like they are starting to grow back.
