Occipital Neuralgia: UPDATE
Hello everyone (: I hope you all had a good day, despite these nasty pains! I had posted something last week about me possibly having Occipital Neuralgia. I had my appt today with the pain specialist/neurologist and, well, it turns out that I do! Honestly, in a good but weird way, I am relieved. Wanting

Nortriptyline and Tinnitus
My doctor prescribed nortriptyline stating that it does help some patients eliminate or reduce tinnitus significantly. I am fearful to take the medication, because one of the side effects is ringing in the ears. Has anyone used this medication with success? Did anyone have their tinnitus caused by it

Right L5S1 foraminotomy / Chronic back pain
I underwent surgery in May 2015 for Right L5S1 foraminotomy. I was discharged with dexamethasone for a few days to try and reduce the numbness I had in my right foot and toes, The numbness did not disappear, it got worse and spread. I returned to hospital 2 months later due to new onset reduced sensation

Probiotics helped eliminate food triggers
I've had success with probiotics . Hello all. I suffer from migraine variant balance disorder. I'm on nortriptyline and pizotifen. Without medication I have up to 15 a month. My triggers Are hormone changes, food and exercise. I have managed to eliminate my food triggers. I thought I'd try Symprove

GABAPENTIN, NORTRIPTYLINE, FOR NERVE PAIN.
Hi, I would really like to hear from anyone who has had experience of either of the above to treat nerve pain. It has been suggested that the problems I am having may be as a result of nerve pain. I do not tolerate medications well and would love to hear from anyone of their experiences either good or

Hi, I'm new to this community
Hi there, I'm happy to find this community because I get so many strange symptoms sometimes I just need someone to talk to. My doctors have not definitely diagnosed Fibromyalgia but they let me talk to them about by name and don't make any comment. I know what I have despite the silence from my GPs

Concealed
I have managed to conceal/manage my depression for over a decade. I started taking nortriptyline a few years ago to help with chronic headaches. However, I've lost all interest in everything I once enjoyed. I work all week and on my days off I just want to sleep. I have zero motivation, I isolate myself

What blood tests need to be done on a regular basis for PA?
What blood tests need to be done on a regular basis for PA? About 6 years ago, my local gastroenterologist office confirmed PA. They were writing the script for twice monthly injections for PA, and also had me on a stomach acid reducer. I stopped taking the stomach acid reducer on my own when I was diagnosed

Hi, I have just joined this evening. I have recently been diagnosed with vulvodynia. I commenced amitryptyline 10mg 2 months ago. The consultant changed it to nortryptyline last week for unprovoked episodes of vulvodynia. Having researched both drugs, it appears they do much of a muchness. I had an

Chronic Pericarditis
Hi I have been suffering with pericarditis for nearly 2 years. My initial attack was in January 2018. I was taken into hospital with a suspected heart attack - very scary! After being discharges with no diagnosis I went backwards and forwards to my GP with no luck. I then eventually went private -

Advice needed re nortriptyline please as preventative
Please can anyone help/advise me. I’ve had migraines since age 11 but over the last few years they’ve increased to two or four a week. I’m 64. I take rizatriptan and cocodomol(45mg) I’ve recently seen a migraine specialist who suggested nortriptyline as a preventative. I’m now taking 50mg at night

Life update
Hello all! A lot of you have been following my journey through dialysis and recently transplant, and I really appreciate all of the support that you've given! I celebrated 6 months post transplant on 7/8/19, and after lowering my tac to 6mg daily (3 pills 2×/day), switching from Metoprolol to Losartan

Pain clinic fail.....😖 (long rant sorry)
I had an appointment with the pain clinic consultant last week after being seen by his registrar to get my pain medication sorted out. I’ve had chronic pain since a spontaneous Sacral fracture five years ago. I take Naproxen, Nortriptyline, Co-Codamol and Butrans patches. These had all been prescribed
