Hi there, I'm happy to find this community because I get so many strange symptoms sometimes I just need someone to talk to. My doctors have not definitely diagnosed Fibromyalgia but they let me talk to them about by name and don't make any comment.
I know what I have despite the silence from my GPs (general practitioners in UK). The pain is intolerable if I don't take the tablets I've got. Strangely, the best for me is a UK drug called Nortriptyline - it's actually an antidepressant but it works on pain. I can't take any painkillers with anti-inflammatory properties because that affects my kidneys. So I've got other painkillers that help a little. Today, I have gotten a cold and when I catch colds it brings with it all the fybro symptoms in fury. The cold I've got is not that bad but the fibromyalgia is dreadful. That's why I joined this support group today because little ailments bring on a torrent of fibro problems and absolutely floor me. xxx

First, welcome to this fantastic forum. Everyone's great so helpful and caring. Yes, when you have got cold or anything else it will bring on a bad flare. I'm on alot of pain relief, they take the edge off but that's all, if I didn't take them I wouldn't be able to to get out of bed each morning. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
Just to say welcome. I agree if you have any virus the fibro symptoms seem to multiply. I have the flu at the moment and can honestly say I feel as though I have been run over by a steam roller. Hope your symptoms ease a little.x
