APCCC 2019: Pitfalls of PSMA PET-CT in Advanced Prostate Cancer Imaging
A recent prospective single-arm trial assessed the accuracy of 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET in localizing recurrent prostate cancer among 635 patients with biochemically recurrent prostate cancer after
prostatectomy
(n = 262, 41%), radiation therapy (n = 169, 27%), or both (n = 204, 32%).1 The presence of prostate

The definition of SECOND biochemical recurrence (after prostatectomy AND salvage radiation)
There is a confusing array of definitions of biochemical recurrence (BCR) after salvage radiation (SRT). I'm not sure that we're ready for a standardized definition yet. https://pcnrv.blogspot.com/2019/08/the-definition-of-second-biochemical.html

. Do you get any pleasure from it or is it strictly for the Insertive partner. You can email me directly if you want danwinters1966@gmail.com

SRT Treatment for Prostate Cancer
I had a
prostatectomy
3 years ago since then psa has climb to .09. I was thinking of putting off SRT until reaching .2 I am concerned about the potential side effects of radiation. My pathology was G6 pt2c with positive margins at right apex and right lateral. Decipher score was .38 low risk.

From incontinence to an artificial urinary sphincter.
I had a
prostatectomy
just over three years ago. The removal of my prostate solved three problems and created two more. Gone was the urinary retention and trouble urinating. Also gone was the prostate cancer.

Detectible PSA two years after RP
I had a radical
prostatectomy
in June of 2017. I had several different Gleason numbers from the biopsy prior to surgery. The highest Gleason number was 7. My PSA was 23 prior to the biopsy. Surgery was successful and margins were clear at the post biopsy.

PSA up again after 30 days
And his Gleason was a 3+4, PSA prior to radical
prostatectomy
was 2.4. Scans also were clear prior to prostate removal. He’s doing well lifts and works out 5 days a week he’s plant based Can anyone tell me is this still slow growing? Do you know of a scan that can detect even if PSA is under 1?

German Innovation Offers New Alternative to Traditional Prostatectomy and Brachytherapy.
The video link will describe briefly Irreversible Electroporation (IRE) now being offered in San Diego. On the link page you can hear Dr. Stehling provide an overview of the procedure he helped develop in Frankfurt, Germany. The results of the NanoKnife seem very impressive given typical concerns about

Difficulty sitting after Prostate Surgery !
I just had radical
prostatectomy
11 days ago. A lot of the pain has subsided more or less, but I feel if I sit for an extended period of time, the area is too tender and gets inflamed and painful. Bumby car rides are really challenging.

Could not remove my prostate and the cancer!
I went into surgery for a
prostatectomy
, my surgery was stopped after 3 doctors tried and failed to remove my prostate. My cancer tumor had attached itself to my rectum. 4 weeks later, I had the lower third lobe of my right lung removed for prostate cancer.

Need advice, facing question...
Anyway - reading the little bit that I have the last few days, I see a trend where people who get some form of ablation to treat BPH or localized PCa, if they have to go back because of rising PSA levels, for a Salvage radical
prostatectomy
, the outcomes don't look good.

Survival rates for having PCa and bone metastasis???
Have had robotic
prostatectomy
in November 2018; clear margins, 2 lymph nodes out of 27 positive, seminal vesicle intrusion. Was on Zytiga/Prednisone for 6 months before it failed. Had Provenge immunotherapy treatment in March 2019. Continuing on Lupron/Eligard. Now on Olaparib, PARP inhibitor.

Is it Permanent?
It's been over 2 years since my combined
prostatectomy
and diverticulotomy, and I'm still nervous about going without wearing some type of diaper. I have tried on occasion when I think I'm going through a dry period, but then the unfortunate happens.

Where in being without metastasis means "Watchful Waiting"
Almost immediate surgery to remove the prostate via robotically assisted
prostatectomy
. Clean in the margins. 1 year later rising PSA so 2010 May to July 13 weeks RT 5 times a week.

Diagnosed in July
Chose to see a surgical urologist, and decided to go with
prostatectomy
....scheduled for September. Knowing my father had prostate cancer, I should’ve have had regular physical and screenings earlier (like at 40-45)! I’m stupid and I’m still feeling guilty about my stupidity.

Diet and Cancer Progression . . . Fruit
I had a
prostatectomy
and SRT, recurrence 2013, Gleason 4=3 biopsy, 3+3 pathology, and a PSADT of 7 months. PSA's since January 2019 - - - 0.442, 0.435, 0.416, 0.427, 0.424. I call this a 'cancer neutral" or a "cancer stable" diet.

ED Management: Trimix vs Sildenafil
I'm taking a 20mg Sildenafil pill once a day (wait, there's a caveat) per Surgeon's recommendation following robotic
prostatectomy
in Oct 2018. This Rx has had no impact on my ability to achieve strong erections.

PSMA PET finds more cancer than Axumin
For guys with rising PSA, post-
prostatectomy
... This is for the Ga-68-PSMA-11 PET/CT scan. It was especially good at detecting cancer in the pelvic lymph nodes.
