I had a
prostatectomy
in September 2022. My PSA showed a result of "undetectable" at 3, 6, and 9 months after surgery. At 12 months, it was no longer undetectable. A PSMA PT scan showed mild to moderate uptake in several lymph nodes around the site of my
prostatectomy
but no distant disease.

Options for Recurrent PCa w/ RT Initial Therapy
Have read about these options:
Prostatectomy
/Brachytherapy/Cystoprostatectomy/Cryotherapy Anybody have any knowledge or studies that might suggest a direction? Still hoping for the possibility of a cure and avoid the ADT train awhile.

Advice for my husband, looking at treatment options
In preliminary post biopsy conversations the urologist has suggested either
prostatectomy
or radiation therapy. This week we're meeting again with the urologist and soon with the radiation oncologist. Truly wish I had found this site when he was diagnosed.

Bleeding after salvage radiation
Had radical
prostatectomy
12/21. Salvage radiation about 11 mos ago. Currently about one year into Lupron + Abiraterone + prednisone. Recently experienced very mild rectal and/or blood in stool. Is this likely due to the radiation, or something else?

Erectile Leaking
I'm 2 months post robotic-
prostatectomy
. All went very well regarding surgery as is, my continued recovery. The one thing which I can't understand or work out is masturbation incontinence. 90% now I'm dry, just wearing a small dry pad. Doing my Kegel exercises every day, 3 times a day.

Hypogonadism After Prostatectomy
RP was 10 weeks ago. Still leaking, but i see some improvement. Next appointment is in 2 weeks. At the last appointment 2 weeks after the surgery, surgeon tells me we can discuss going back on Androgel in a year. Prior to the surgery, I had told him I expected to go back on Androgel. I plan to tell

On demand Tadalafil or Viagra
I have been taking 5 mg of tadalafil daily since
prostatectomy
in September 2022, the tadalafil certainly does not result in what you would term an erection but does allow some engorgement of my penis. I am seeking a more satisfying experience closer to pre op performance, pipe dream maybe.

Questions about medicare/insurance - turning 65
I foresee a bunch of expenses in my future (
prostatectomy
and pelvic lymph dissection, possible radiation…), and wonder what I should do regarding my pending Medicare enrollment. Do any of you older folks have any suggestions which way I should go? Medicare? Medicare & supplemental? Other?

just diagnosed with CKD stage 3.
hi all I have been on this sight for my husband who had prostate cancer and robotic
prostatectomy
4 years ago. Due to very slight rise in PSA they did a Pet scan which showed kidney cancer, what a shock no symptoms at all, apparently until late stages there is no symptoms.

Shingles vaccination and PCa progression?
Gleason score 9 (4+5) Radical
Prostatectomy
2017 > BCR 2019 SRT 8 weeks + Firmagon 6 injections (over 6 months). G 9 recurrence is inevitable (as we all know) so I am scared to take the Shingles vaccine. Any one above age 50 that the PCP recommend the 2 shots of this vaccine? Thank you Ralph

It's still there; now what?
After a few undetectable PSA readings following a
prostatectomy
, 15 months of Eligard and salvage radiation, my latest reading is 0.03. The oncologist suggests waiting until the next PSA test in November to see the rate of change and once it hits a threshold, I will have another PSMA scan.

I read here about how gay men should not get a
prostatectomy
. Whatever little information I have read seem to indicate that radiotherapy is more likely to cause anal/rectal issues. Hence I am feeling very confused. Of course I like the idea of not having surgery( and resultant scars..
