Seeking advice from different people regarding results from using on demand Tadalafil or Viagra.
I have been taking 5 mg of tadalafil daily since prostatectomy in September 2022, the tadalafil certainly does not result in what you would term an erection but does allow some engorgement of my penis. I am seeking a more satisfying experience closer to pre op performance, pipe dream maybe. I do not want to go down the injection path just yet as my specialist informs me it can take up to two years to see improvement. Both nerve bundles were saved. Bruised and battered, but saved.
Anyway my prostate specialist nurse suggests taking the tadalafil on demand, for when I get lucky, at 10 to 20 mg but I would like if people could share their experience. I am thinking maybe a change to Viagra on demand. Of course no longer taking the 5 mg of tadalafil daily.
Anyone anything to offer please?
Thanks
Ian

Have you tried the full higher therapeutic dose yet? If you have and it hasn’t resulted in better engorgement then it’s worth trying another drug to see if you get a better response. Individuals respond better to one versus another. That lower daily dose you are taking is primarily meant to help support blood flow as you heal. It’s great your getting some response at this point, though.
No I haven’t tried the higher therapeutic dose as yet.
I am leaning towards requesting a prescription to trial different drugs to see if anything will improve my erections as Tall_Allen suggests .
Yes I have being taking the 5 mg of tadalafil daily to assist with blood flow. It does allows some response of which I am grateful. But I would like to see if I can a achieve a much firmer response with something taken at a higher dose on demand. Just not sure what?
I will chat with my prostate specialist nurse, they are usually my first point of contact, they have been incredibly supportive throughout this whole process.
You may find that that the tadafil will work well. And if not you can try the others. That low daily dose isn’t really intended to produce an erection.
And yes it does seem like the injections are a really effective option as an alternative. I am just coming up on four months post op and will likely start injections when I meet with my doctor next month. I am also going to try tadalafil as I am taking daily sildenafil.
Try them all. Until you find the one that works best for you - it's very individual. Don't worry about adding to the daily dose. If it doesn't work, Trimix will.
My (UK) medical team prescribed tadafil 5mg daily AND 100mg sildenafil for each event, which I guess is the same as on demand. The 5mg daily dose is designed to keep the penis working, i.e. night time erections and help prevent penile atrophy.
I used bi-mix shots. They work great. They are not as bad as the mental image you are painting right now. The needle is very short and super fine. Very little injection discomfort.
Once you do the first shot in the privacy of your own home, you'll be hooked. When my little friend woke up and stretched out for the first time, I was hooked. Just the act of getting an erection felt great. This helped me physically and mentally for sure.
6 years later I now just need the 5mg tadalafil daily for assistance. If the pills don't work, try the shots. They will really help you in this journey.
My NHS surgeon prescribes me 5mg Cialis daily with a small supply of 25mg Viagra to act as a booster if I get lucky.
It offers varied results but I always make sure I have a silicon cock ring and lube to help with the manipulation of my cock to a satisfactory hardness.
My erections do vary a lot, some days I can get a cock hard enough for penetration but others about 80% of that.
One thing that is annoying is how easily I can lose my hard on, hence the cock ring but I can still go limp at the drop of a hat which is frustrating.
But my last boyfriend who has no prozzie problems could lose his hard on like me too so it could be an age thing or perhaps we needed to stimulate each other a bit better....
