After eating!
I have been taking 150mg x 2 of
Propafenone
daily, for the last 3 weeks, along with Xarelto and 2.5 mg of bisoprolol. The first five days were fantastic, my heart didn’t miss a beat, or race, but then it all started again.

Switching meds
I've developed serious side effects from the
propafenone
. Dr switched me over from 100MG flecainide because I was still going back into AFib. He now has me on 325MG 3x daily. When it was only 225MG, I didn't have as pronounced effects as I do now.

Burning in tummy and chest
I'm on metoprolol and Rythmol (
propafenone
) which I've been on for 3 years and never had a problem with it . Never had any issues with gluten or dairy before ??? I'm wondering if it's the healing process ?? I just feel horrible at times, maybe it's an ulcer due to the stress ??

Tired of this
I'm now 4 weeks post ablation and I have stomach issues and I still have the burning in my chest as well as a heart rate of 76-87, but I am on 100mg metoprolol a day +
propafenone
.... the pain comes and goes . I wonder if I wasn't on beta blockers if my heart rate would be thru the roof ??

Hi, I'm new here
Also, has anyone taken
Propafenone
for a lone time? I read they are only effective for two or three years.

Hi, I'm new here
I'm now on
Propafenone
which is working but I 'm always afraid of long term effects of meds and I read the meds are only effective for a 2 or 3 years. Has anyone been on this drug for a long period of time and are there any dangerous side effects? I'm thinking of getting another ablation.

Anti-arrhythmic Propafenone
My representations have been met with deaf ears as my GP now insists that
propafenone
is a 'specialist only ' drug. The category of
propafenone
, in my understanding has not changed for years and fail to understand what is the driver behind my GP's unwillingness to provide a repeat prescription.

Acupuncture for treating A-fib
Have had 2 ablations and just came off
propafenone
which didn't hold me and gave lots of side effects. ER using diltiazem to get rate down. While laying here did some research and came across some research on acupuncture to successfully treat a-fib.

Ablation for ectopics?
'Upgraded' to A.Fib. around 1996, temporarily alleviated by cardioversion several times, and ultimately relieved by
propafenone
(ectopics largely suppressed also) and returned in Aug. 2001.

Had my Paroxysmal AF cured only now to have developed SVT
My consultant then put me back on
Propafenone
150mg three times a day and started me on Bisoprolol 2.5mg once a day. I seem to be tolerating the Bisoprolol quite well, only had side effects for the first three days of taking them and haven't had any SVT attacks since.

Flecanaide and Bisoprolol as PIP?
Propafenone
the same. Right now taking nothing, just Biso when PAF comes on for rate control. So do I just take the Flecanaide without Biso and give it two hours? Problem is, that my rate in PAF goes up to 150 and higher, bad to take over a longer time. Even on Biso when in AF never below 100.

According to EP JOHN MANDROLA, MD "AF-rhythm drugs (propafenone, flecainide for example) often make atrial flutter worse."
That’s right; some AF-rhythm drugs (
propafenone
, flecainide for example) often make atrial flutter worse. This is especially relevant to athletes on AF-drugs. Athletes who take AF-rhythm drugs (without beta-blockers or Ca-E blockers) can sustain dangerously high heart rates during exercise.

Lupron/Eligard and Atrial Fibrillation Meds
I've seen warnings about interactions with heart arythmia medications, in my case
propafenone
. Has anyone experienced serious interactions between eligard/lupron and these heart meds? My cancer isn't advanced.

Side effects of flecinate, propafenone, amiodarone and sotalol
Hi everyone, I am on 150 mg of flecinate for sinus ventricular tachicardia, it gives me intense dreams, so want to try something else, like propfenone,or amiodarone or another drug that works better. I also wake up twice a night with tachicardia, I do not now if it is from the intense dreams or my heart

After Ablation and 10 years on medication its time to stop meds or is it?!
I contacted EP via his secretary, he advised stopping
Propafenone
and going back onto Flecainide (which I used to take but had stopped working) So I started Flecainide 50mg twice a day.

Stopping Flecainide
I was first put on
Propafenone
, but after three days had to come off of it because of bad side effects. I was then placed on flecainide, and given the lowest dose but after one week the side effects were coming on. I called my EP and he said could I try for another week.

Propafenone (Rythmol) or Flecainide (Tambocor)
I started taking
propafenone
this past Tuesday (4 days ago) and it makes me very lightheaded and increases my breathing difficulty, I have copd, using Metoprolol and an inhaler. It also drains my energy.
