Experience, thus far with Lupron and Abiraterone
I was also placed on Abiraterone 500 mg + 5 mg of
prednisone
daily. I have gained about 7 pounds in the stomach area, which is stubborn to shed. Man, do I try? Furthermore, I do experience some sleeplessness. I am waiting for proton therapy, which I understand would be sometime in June 2024.

Abiraterone side effect
After 12 doses of abirateron/
prednisone
I developed a rather severe cough. Even though this is one of the listed side effects of abiraterone my oncologist says that she has never heard of it happening before.

Meeting with our oncologist for castrate resistance metastatic prostate cancer
Initial therapy bicalutamide/predinsone (8 months) Xtandi (7 months) LuproneMoving to Arbitrone _
prednisone
. He told me his dad's numbers (testosterone 39 and PSA 2.8) are still pretty low and if it wasn't for the pain we would keep him on the Xtandi for a bit longer while the PSA increased.

Stopped Actemra, new questions
I figured that so many people have done this with only
Prednisone
, that I can too. Here's what has happened since. I stopped Actemra 1 month ago.

First blood tests since starting Abi.
He said the
prednisone
was responsible, most likely. He also has me on 5 mg
prednisone
once daily instead of two times daily. Xgeva is the next step. I get a Dex scan in Dec. I have a great MO and Urologist and I thank God for them and that these treatments are available. God Bless.

Broken record head pain
I hate to go up on the
prednisone
, I feel in a constant fog being on this high dose. I see my GP on Monday, I pray she will order a Pet scan. I feel like I am just waiting for something bad to happen. So to keep going back to my head pain…. I don’t know what else I can do.

Depression as side effect of long term prednisone use?
But I just read heard on the
Prednisone
Pharmacist you tube channel that long term use can cause depression. Does anyone have experience with this? I don’t want the dreaded weight gain with anti depressants and have never found one that really helped. That has been years ago tho.

GCA flare and eye sight
I have a new rheumatologist who practices at University Hospital in a clinic designed for patients with vasculitis and certain auto immune diseases (GCA being one of them), who has told me that I need to not worry about losing eye sight during the course of tapering
prednisone
or a flare.

Hello after a forced absence.
After 3 1/2 years on
Prednisone
for PMR (first tapering attempt failed at 7 1/2mg) I have finally gotten down to 2 1/2, very carefully. I do get suspicious shoulder aches occasionally and pray it's just that I did something my muscles aren't used to doing.

Methotrexate Confusion
I am applying the DSNS process and currently reducing from 4.5mg to 4mg of
Prednisone
without any problems…so far! It would “appear” that the increased dose of MTX has helped me to reduce to my current level of 4/4.5mg of
Prednisone
.

Does GCA ever go away or just into remission?
I have GCA but off
prednisone
since end of June. No flares since. Is GCA gone or once you have it you always have it and I've just been lucky to have no flares so far? Is it something I always need to be little alert to? Thanks for any thoughts you might have.

Not fair!
I put a call into my rheumatologist for a prescription for 20 mg
prednisone
. Can anyone tell me about how long it took for the pain to subside after starting
prednisone
. I honestly cannot remember from my first time with this but it seems like it only took a day or two at most.
