BLOOD CLOTTING?!
I am on
Pradaxa
, was wondering if the blood once it has been released from the vein/artery does clot a lot quicker due to it being thinned out so much in the system?

Reversal drug for those on Dabigatran.
Idarucizumab (Praxbind) is a monoclonal antibody that reverses the anticoagulant effect of dabigatran (
Pradaxa
) in patients who require emergency surgery or have life-threatening bleeding. This was news today in Oz.

Was put on cardizem, Flecainide and
Pradaxa
. Flecainide dose was increased following continued AFIB activity. Following a month break from any AFIB event, AFIB came roaring back in early February resulting in another ER visit.

Dentist and Apixaban
I was on
Pradaxa
for over a year with no problems and then my GP decided to change me to Apixaban just to give it a try I think. Seems to be ok the main difference I can see is it does not look as good the packing is cheap by comparison
Pradaxa
looks a lot more expensive.

Grateful
Result of appointment after very long discussion was, I am starting on
Pradaxa
( again thank you Bob) and have scheduled an ablation for September. He also agreed that as long as I'm on
Pradaxa
I can start to take Flecanaide as PIP.

Impending surgery
I have been instructed to stop taking
Pradaxa
2 days prior to surgery. I read a post here last week concerning the low risk for a couple of days but am now wondered if wearing flight socks would be of any benefit to me or a hindrance?

Meds vs Ablation
Additionally, cardiologist increased my dose of Flecaninide by 50% to 75 mg, twice per day (150 mg in total) and recommended I go back on
Pradaxa
even though my Chad score is zero (I am a fit 60 year-old who exercises daily with no heart disease).

Hi I could use an opinion, OK 65, 18 stone and AFIB, taking
Pradaxa
and a recent failure on Cardioversion. the temptation to try Flight of the Gibbon zip line in Chiang Mai Thailand is very high for me it looks amazing!

I had a TIA last month unfortunately and am now on a warfarin equivalent,
pradaxa
Dabigatran etexilate. I am now pursuing the possibility of an ablation and am waiting to see an electrocardiologist. The question is can one have a pulmonary vein ablation when one has already had a TIA?

Update....
Hi, well I went this morning for my Warfarin control and guess what....it was still too low, I've now been put on Dabigatran (
Pradaxa
). I so hope this works out as I'm totally fed up with Warfarin, a complete nightmare. Anything I should know about this med?

Long story short, Dr (polish) I think looked at me as though I was an alien when explained about the
Pradaxa
, then looked the nurse the same, asked if was on warfarin, and then proceeded.
