Thyroid and Amlodipine
After being told I have a blood problem, and raised blood pressure, the GP put me on Amlodipine. I cannot find any reference to contra indications, but would like anyone who is on this to give me feedback. I know it is a calcium channel blocker, which may help my Raynaud's apparently, and I am sure

Amlodipine 5mg
Well, took one tablet of the new blood pressure tablets and reacted badly after several hours - severe headache, dizzy/disorientated, bellyache, nausea and finally sick! I checked the ingredients and there is a starch additive which could cone from corn, wheat or potatoes - and I am allergic to potatoes

Palpitations
I had a small HA nearly 5 years ago and am on Asprin, Remipril, Atorvastatin and Amlodipine. Over the last 10 months I've lost almost three stone (intentionally). I feel as if my internal organs are having a few issues with not having the visceral fat I had for three decades or so! I've had digestive

Review after 4weeks OFF bisoprolol
Well, I saw my gp this morning and we both agreed I need some sort of blood pressure medication. I asked for bendrfuromethiside(or however it’s spelt 🤣) as my normal bp outside of af episodes was fine, and I got no awful side effects (no peeing for England either!) but he wasn’t happy with that because

HBP and Anxiety - Best Time for Medication.
Hi all, hope you are all well, Just a comment today and a question. Firstly, no matter how hard it feels trying to get high blood pressure under control, don't be like me - impatient - you will get there it really is a matter of finding the right medication and this can take time. That and lifestyle

Amlodipine side effects and fitness
After a three month spike in blood pressure readings I’ve been prescribed 5mg Amlodipine as a supplement to 15mg candesarten. The spike returned readings of around 155/90 whilst for the four months prior had been well within 130/80. There was no questioning what happened in my life at time of the spike

Bisoprolol for HBP and Anxiety
Well I thought I was there - Controlled my BP with Ramipril and Amlodipine but now due to some side effects my GP has stopped the Amlodipine and replaced it with Bisoprolol. Anyone got experience of Beta Blockers for HBP? It may suit me as I also suffer from Anxiety but interested in any views. I start

Amlodipine causing joint pains?
Hi, I have been on 10 mg for about two months now. My pre-existing bi-lateral shoulder bursitis is causing me a lot of pain after a stable (ish) 2.5 years. My feet and ankles are swollen and it is painful to walk. Horrible fatigue. Hips and knees starting to feel stiff. I'm 52 and work full time but

Still fed up with GP's and High Blood Pressure Treatment Rant!!! My BP is treated by Ramipril and Amlodipine. My BP day time is ok but my morning reading is still a little frustrating! I wan't to get to a stage where I can cut down checking it as much but my GP keeps wanting readings as I am so up

Resting Heart rate
Good afternoon I hope you have all got a full tank of petrol (uk members). My question is what overnight resting heart rate is acceptable regarding being low. I seem to be going down to 45 at times. My iwatch shows 45 as my overnight average. I recently went from 5mg to 10mg of amlodipine. Does

Amlodipine for HBP
Hi Ramipril taken in the morning lowers my BP to around 110/73 all day. Brilliant success, However I am prescribed Amlodipine at night and when I wake my BP is 150/95 - Not such a success. Anyone else found this? I am having difficulty persuading my GP that I'm not getting good results with Amlodipine

Methotrexate? Is it too soon to go onto this drug
Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with PMR in August 2020 and have found this forum invaluable over the past 13 months. This is my first post as so far I have always found the answer to my questions somewhere on the site. However on this occasion I would really appreciate some advice. I’ve just updated

Living with and improving Morning High Blood pressure
Hi all, May I get my frustration off my chest today by posting (as it helps me). Sorry in advance. I feel pretty lonely trying to deal with my HBP. It's so frustrating not being able to see your GP and talk it through. I'm on Ramipril (Mornings) and Amlodipine (Evenings) and yes they have really helped
