Is anybody still alive after 8 years of having a liver TIPPS stent fitted more than 8 years ago. I would like to know how you are feeling these days and what I can expect in the near future Thanks Jim

Breathlessness advice
I’m at nearly two years post HA (6th May 21) and one stent 😊. I’ve lost weight, fitter than I’ve been in years and eating habits have improved. I acknowledge there is still room for improvement. In the last month I have noticed that I am becoming more breathless when walking or doing jobs like gardening

Ejection fraction 41% post MI ...
I'm just under 3 weeks post STEMI - with 1 stent to the LAD. Echo' a couple of days post procedure showed EF was only 41% .... (I was a late presentation, so myocardial damage was probably greater than it otherwise might have been)... I was previously extremely fit for my age (60's) - with no risk

TIPS Stent Help
Hi I am looking to find someone who is in the same predicament as me. There must be someone out there? I had a TIPS stent fitted in 2015 for severe portal hypertension and variceal bleeding in oesophagus and stomach. Has the TIPS procedure in Liverpool but as I live in Wales, ever since, there seems

Sensation in kidney area
Hi, I had kidney stones 2 years ago, and had them removed through surgery. I had a stent fitted, which was an uncomfotable experience. The stent was removed. They removed the stones. However, in the mornings I feel a strange senstaion in my lower back area, sometimes it is like a tingling feeling

Angioplasty
So I had my angiogram today. Told doctor I had read up on PCI v medical therapy and the fact there’s no difference in outcome - so I don’t want a stent unless it’s absolutely necessary. Anyway, angiogram showed 90% stenosis of the LAD (proximal). When Dr showed me how much vessel would be cut off if

The Caregiver Mom
So thankful to find this sight! I do not have CP but my adult single son does and had necrotizing pancreas last July. Had major surgery to clean up the area's affected. Had 6 drainage tubes, a feeding tube in the small intestine, etc. His most recent issues have been with ascites and having to have

Lovely day out.
Hope this post I allowed. Had a lovely day at Audley end house and boy am I'm glad of the interventional cardiologist who put in my stent in last year. This time last year I would have been using my spray half a dozen times during the day, especially as it was a bit of a steep climb up to the car

Can azathioprine cause chest pains?
Hi, I have been on azathioprine tablets mostly 75mg to 100mg for my Lupus for approximately 20 years. Have been experiencing chest pains on my left side especially after excretion. I had various tests and scans but they are all negative. I had Covid last September and had to stop taking the azathioprine

Hayfever 😒
Hopefully someone can recommend a safe antihestamean for hayfever,I've been struggling the past 2 weeks with it, I suspect cherry blossoms are the reason as there's alot around my house..I had a heart attack and stent 3 years ago and have angina,I use G.T .N spray when needed, before this I've never suffered

To stent or not to stent ?
As a result of mild, burning angina symptoms I was scanned. I have one significant blockage in the LAD artery. How significant I just don't know because it was impossible to actually get to talk to a cardiologist. Then I received an appointment to get a stent and I requested that the procedure be postponed

Driving
Im just over 4 weeks from a H/A and 3 weeks from having a stent. I had to stop driving my car for 4 weeks and I'm a LGV driver so my vocational licence is suspended until I do the treadmill test, i'm not expecting there to be an issue with that so fingers crossed when that time comes. However, I drove

Stent longevity
I was wondering what can go wrong with a stent after a number of years. For example, if a blockage forms again within the stent can they replace the stent or does it need to be bypassed ?

Looking back
Hey Everyone Mum says you shouldn't look back only forwards but I like to look back to see how far I've come. A year ago I caught the dreaded virus that can't be named. It's that that started all this I was fairly ill but recovered by being in bed (oddly enough I got my first negative test Easter Sunday
