Lp(a) results are in ….
I’ve recently had bloods taken to test for FH and Lp(a) levels. I had a heart attack in 2022 at aged 51 and was started on a whole ton of medications afterwards including Atorvastatin 80mg and then a bit later adding in 10mg Ezetimibe. My LDL cholesterol has not been able to reach the target of 1.4

It all started with a purple toe!
I've had high cholesterol for more than twenty years and although I've been prescribed statins, have never continued taking them until recently when I developed a purple toe. The doctor was concerned it was an embolism and I was sent for several tests and to see a consultant. It appears from an ECG

What is the prognosis for someone with Graves’ disease?
Hi All, I have some questions about the prognosis for someone with Graves’ disease. How would Graves’ disease likely progress if solely treated using anti-thyroid medication such as Carbimazole? This is the route I am taking. I know it’s an autoimmune disease so there will be flareups and periods

So much confusion so much pain
I tell you I struggle every day. I look at pics of my wife from this time last year, 2 years ago 3 years ago. My wife was never a drinker. We had a glass of wine at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Every now and then, maybe once or twice a year. She would have a drink at our friends. When we moved

PSA Rising and Erleada Dose Raised
Hi, My husband was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 2012. There was some talk of the possibility of a hot zone in the pelvic bone, but the Oncologist was unsure - due to the fact my husband had sustained a very bad fall from a ladder at the time. He has been on various treatments plus a 6 monthly

Greater use of Benlysta, Saphnelo seen in US, EU to treat lupus
Goal to reduce long-term glucocorticoids use to prevent side effects
In both the U.S. and Europe, clinicians want to limit treatment with glucocorticoids — steroid hormones whose long-term use for autoimmune diseases is tied to serious side effects — among people with moderate to severe lupus

New to RA /methotrexate looking for advice.
Been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis a few weeks ago and starting methotrexate tomorrow which I’m starting on 10mg for 2 weeks then 15mg for 2 weeks then 20mg from there, also 5mg of folic acid the other six days and 5mg of prednisone for now but reducing it. Do I need to worry about anything ?

8/4/23 Update questions for MO
To review, after 19 months on Lupron, Zytiga, prednisone, PSA increased on 1/23 to 0.253, then 0.309 on 2/21. Plarify scan showed only one active site in hip which was radiated. 4/4 PSA dropped to 0.24 which indicated the lesion was knocked out and I would be hormone sensitive and stay on Zytiga. Yea

Rash from Cirrhosis?
Anyone with cirrhosis have a rash other than jaundice or spider veins? I have little raised red bumps that get very itchy and scaly. They’re mostly on my legs and my back and some along my waistline.

Hi all, First a little bit of background about me. I am 49, living in Ireland. I have Graves's disease diagnosed by an endocrinologist who did antibody test etc.. After diagnosis I underwent 18 months on Carbimazole and then came off for a couple of months but my T3 and T4 shot back up again (and TSH
