Chest Pain?
Hello! Just wanted to know if chest pain is a common symptom for anyone? The past few days I haven't had much tightness, but have started having some chest pain-- it isn't constant, but is kind of a dull soreness or ache. This happened last month too, and when I went into see my specialist, she wasn't

Adult diagnosis
Not sure what to say. I was diagnosed 2017, I'd been coughing incessantly. Got spirometry, xray, peak flow diary Dr said its asthma. Gave me brown inhaler. Towards Xmas last year I had a very bad "panic" episode, not true panic hyperventilating pushed my blood gases haywire. Ttip to A &E. In May

2 week long Asthma related issue. Still unwell and right lung feels heavy / blocked.
Hi guys, My name's Leif. First time poster. Im a 29 year old. I had a big exacerbation in 7 months ago and almost died. Now recently 2 weeks ago I went to hospital for my breathing. I was admitted to hospital after my peak flow was 150 (normally 420+). They pumped me with Ventolin every 4 hours,

Great peak flow but I can't breathe!
Hello, I would be grateful for advice, please. Long-term asthmatic (using daily Symbicort/Ventolin) mostly having flares with exercise, colds/chest infections/hay fever. I can become quite ill with a chest infection. Daily OK with peak flows of c 420-450. My question is that I have begun my 'old

Two Asthma Attacks in the space of Two Months—Should I be concerned?
Before I get into this whole thing since I am new on this forum, I just want to start off by saying that from birth I was quite sickly. I was born with malfunctioning kidney valves that taken two years to fix, had severe asthma growing up and my first asthma attack was when I was 8 years old, I had two

Help getting a diagnosis
I’m currently undergoing testing and have been prescribed a reliever inhaler only. Because I was experiencing chest pain my gp is investigating potential heart problems and although he has prescribed an inhaler, won’t diagnose asthma or prescribe a preventer inhaler at this time. I’ve been experiencing

Seretide to Fostair, my experience and concern.
So like all of us my Asthma gets worse in the Winter, however this year I wanted to just check in with my Doctor about my symptoms. I mostly struggle breathing at night, I average a 550 on my peak flow in the day (I'm 50 year old male) but with Ventolin get straight back up to healthy 650. I was on

Treating adrenals & cortisol
I know someone who is having a really distressing time and I'm convinced they could do with helping their adrenals & or cortisol levels. They don't (as far as they are aware) have any thyroid issues. They are waking at night & not being able to get back to sleep. They've bought Ashwaganda & Passiflora

In the red zone and under pressure to be at work
I have been in my red zone for the last few days thanks to a colleague who passed on her cold which of course caused my asthma to flare up. Thanks to my new asthma nurse I now have abx and steroids on standby at home which I started taking when peak flow dropped. I have a three monthly review with her

Best peak flow app
Made a silly error by downloading a peak flow app and registering my pf three times a day. A week in just worked out that you can only do once a day so it’s been wiping out any measurement before. What do you all use?

Confused and looking for advice please :)
So this question is mainly aimed at people who have a mild form of asthma I guess. And I know that I've asked a few questions before and gotten advice based on it but just wondering if someone has been in this situation or what I could do. Thanks in advance. Trying to keep this short...and failing ;

Hi All. Came onto this forum as I am a member of Healthunlocked C25K & Bridge to 10K so seemed natural to do so. I went for a spirometry test on Nov 8th then back to see nurse specializing in chronic disease management today on 13th November. I started smoking late in life at about 45 years old and

When to call an ambulance for a child.
Hi everybody, I have a 5 year old with severe eosinophilic asthma, he has had 38 hospital admissions in the last 2.5 years and he is symptomatic (wheezes) every night and approx 5/7 days daytime symptoms. I am happy with the care he receives from the 2 hospitals that he is under and his school and childminder

Autism met Asthma
Hi, I get anxiety as part of my autism. I am finding it really difficult to express the symptoms I am getting. I can see my peak flow is dropping but when I express it to the asthma nurse she is just passing it away as though nothing is wrong. I know from having asthma for years than when your peak flow
