What is the success rate of an Ablation?
It looks to me like about 50%. My doc is hell bent on trying to stop my Afib as it is non stop and he says that my heart will grow in size and I will have trouble breathing in years to come. I have not seen this noted before on any of the remarks. I have had a cardioversion, lasted a week. Now on

A question about Flecainide
When in first-time sustained AF this year, I was prescribed Flecainide in an attempt to return me to sinus rhythm. This did not work and subsequently I was given a DCCV which I’m pleased to say did the trick. Following the consultant’s recommendation, I am now taking Flecainide (50 mg twice a day) to

Here we go again……..!!
After the elation of self converting back to NSR after a full blown episode of everyone’s favourite monster…. Afib, that lasted just over 30 hours, a mere four days later and I’m back in it and now at the same 30ish hour point and feeling dreadful and convincing myself this could be another seven day

Newbie needs some test results help.
Hi everyone, I would appreciate some help/advice with these results. I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in October last year and put on 40mg of Carbimazole which caused Cholestatic Jaundice and made me pretty ill. I had a thyroidectomy in December and was put on 150mcg of Levothyroxine after my surgery

Watchman Device
I was diagnosed with afib only one time during a routine checkup. It was never found again. I even bought an afib detector that I test myself 3x a day. I have never had any symptoms. With that said, I realize afib is a progressive type of issue. In view that I have great cholesterol numbers and nothing

TSH went from 0.2 to 1.6 in a few weeks… increase T4 or T3?
My doses of T4 to T3 continue to increase. No thyroid due to thyroidectomy in 2019. Since January of 2021 my TSH has stayed around 0.2-1 on 112 T4 and 112 T4 and 5 T3. 112 T4 is approx 2.1xkg. So already a decent dose of T4. Never felt much better anyway. But new bloods show the exact same frees with

Anyone have ablation for asymptomatic afib/aflutter?
Hi. I appreciate the great answers and support from my previous question on this forum. I know the main reason for ablation is to eiminate afib, improve QoL and hopefully get off of the meds. This may be a stupid question but are there many people with asymptomatic afib/aflutter and heartrate of 70-

Can heart pounding ectopics come with pulsating head pressure?
I am new here, but have already found the site to be very informative and helpful. For more than a year now, almost daily and usually at the end of the day, I have been experiencing pulsating head pressure and sometimes a sense of dizziness. The head pulsations often seem to sync with heart pounding

Anyone on this dose of thyroxine?
My new surgeon is intending to reduce my Levothyroxine to 100 one day and 75 the next to lower it slightly. Currently, T4 17 (11-22), TSH .06 (.30-4.30). I have had various heart and blood pressure problems in the last year. 12 years since thyroidectomy and radium treatment and believes I am now at

Pulse Oximeters to help/predict Afib?
Hi folks, Has anyone had any success with using one of these devices to reduce the number or duration of Afib episodes/symptoms. I am about to trial one to monitor my O2 and heartrate at nights because I feel that undiagnosed sleep apnoea (perhaps below the clinical definition) may be causing or contributing

15 month after my first ablation
Hello, I have been diagnosed with Afib in April 2020, and had an ablation on June 2020. It took me 9 months to fully recover - in NSR all the time but I had periods of dizziness and high hearth rate. I was a recreational trail runner before all started, running 50 miles per week, stopped running before

Confused about hashimotos
I was diagnosed with hashimotos at the same time as thyroid cancer so I have had a total thyroidectomy. But will the hashimotos still effect me? Is it worth trying the changes in Isabella Wentz's books for example - is it likely to make me feel better? When I asked the doctor whether I'd still be affected
