It has been seven years since I posted, though I've been checking in on all of you! Amazing to see how things have changed since 2013 when I first followed this feed.
I am most grateful for all the information as well as the sharing.
I go in tomorrow for my 5th ablation - so for those of you who are concerned about a first... you can see that they are do-able!
I've been in Afib again since spine surgery (where I think the Cox-2 inhibitors played a role in bringing back the AF). Who knows! I've tried diet, lifestyle - a multitude of changes to no avail.
For those who will ask questions as to what has prompted me to try again:
1- The last one worked until the spine surgery
2- I am in Afib at least 1x week at 140-210bpm for a duration of minimum 15h-35 hours.
3- None of the medications work for me.
No one's afib is the same, just as no one's choices as to what path to take will be the same. Just sharing to give a point of departure in these on going journeys we seem to share!
Best wishes to you all, and the best outcomes for us all as well!

Thank you Jean- ever faithful! Yes he is and he took over from the original EP for the last one. Switched to GA, which I don’t like- but it will be more peaceful!
Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective and experience. I believe that I may be heading for ablation #3 in the near future. Hopefully #5 is a charm for you. All the best with the upcoming procedure.
Wishing you well for your ablation. It is becoming better acknowledged that anaesthetic can trigger arrhythmia if that is your pre existing problem. I experienced it recently & was always convinced my initial diagnosis was made because of major surgery. All best wishes
I know, I felt the same way. But the Dr says he is able to do his work in much greater detail when we are under anesthesia as we remain more still. It makes sense, and the anesthesia is more like one used for a colonoscopy than deep anesthesia. I detox with natural remedies, acupuncture and FSM afterwards!
This is the most wonderful community, thank you so much. I am lucky to have good friends and family who support me, but there is NOTHING like the support from others who know what you actually feel like. One grows weary of being stoic all the time! Thank you all!
It was long and complicated but hopeful it will go well. The doctor and the whole team were great, I am very grateful. Best wishes to you all and a calm holiday season!
