Diabetic thyroidie & possible misdiagnosed BPD
My friend, an insulin dependent diabetic from childhood had a thyroidectomy 2008/9 due to thyrotoxicosis. Three years later diagnosed with bi polar disorder. I suspect mis diagnosis. Takes T4 only, continual tachycardia episodes. I have been told TFTs are in range. Yes, right, most of us have been

Amiodarone - yes or no ?
Hi all. Just interested to hear from any forum members who have used / or are using Amiodarone to treat their afib. To help with afib it seems to be a last resort medication - I understand that it can and does cause bad side effects. However if you can tolerate these it appears to be the most effective

Supplement advice please for a newbie
I have had to cancel my GP appointment, that I have waited three weeks for, as I have contracted covid and the next one available is in four weeks. I want to feel as well as I can, as soon as I can. I had a total thyroidectomy late last year for thyroid cancer followed by RAI in March. I got through

Look after yourself!
Hi everyone, as you will know from previous posts, my hubby has decompensated liver and is still drinking, with an "If I die, I die" attitude. So today saw me at the GP for myself (felt a bit self indulgent tbh) and I've got low haemoglobin, low vitamin levels, possibly due to Covid a couple of months

Exercise and Afib
I'm sure you all already know this but I discovered this recently. My cardiologist sent me to cardiac rehab because I have afib and some wall weakening in the heart. The idea is to strengthen the heart muscle to be able to handle any arrhythmia that may come my way. I always thought that talk

Pregnancy concerns
Hi all, looking for a little support/reassurance. I had a thyroidectomy last year (Feb 21) and after much tweaking was placed on 100mcg thyroxine. I then fell pregnant in October and my dosage was immediately upped to 150mcg even though levels were normal. Unfortunately this pregnancy subsequently

Ongoing fatigue following thyroidectomy due to cancer
In 2019 I had a full thyroidectomy and RAI treatment due to cancer. Since then I have had problems with fatigue, which I understand is not unusual after this type of treatment. I was given125mcg Levothyroxine initially but this caused near hyperthyroidism, I am at present on 100mcg but find I am still

Taking part in Watchman trial to establish if it’s safe to come off anti-coagulants like Apixaban

Grateful for any Feedback on PVI Ablation Please
Hi, My background is:- Developed Atrial Fibrillation in November 2021 (persistent from day 1). Had a cardioversion in February 2022, which lasted about 7 weeks and then back into persistent AF, looking back I carried on as normal after the cardioversion and perhaps I should have been more careful.

Have any Vagal Afibbers tried exercising before bed?
As I have Vagal Afib I can switch it off early on in an episode with a Valsalva maneuver. A few nights ago I could not stop the Afib as it did not wake me immediately, so I could not stop it the usual way. I had read that some people exercise during Afib, so rather than pop another Flecainide pill I

Docetaxel Extends Enzalutamide Effectiveness
This is our first proof that resistance to enzalutamide can be reduced with docetaxel. It also shows that triplet therapy may be beneficial in patients who have already progressed to castration resistance. We would expect a larger effect if used at the first sign of castration resistance. https://www.prostatecancer.news

Review of the Wellue 24 hour heart monitor with AI analysis.
I have bought one of these and am very impressed with what it detects and reports. See https://getwellue.com/products/heart-health-monitor Has an optional chest strap included so you can clip the monitor direct to the strap rather than use the adhesive pads. Detects up to 17 kinds of ECG events. When

how do you deal with sudden dizziness
hi My husband has a fib since being diagnosed in 2018. He is an otherwise fit and healthy 76 year old. Walks a lot not overweight no smoking and no alcohol since diagnosis. Is on digoxin and Rivaroxaban once a day. He gets a fib on average for about 24 hours every few weeks. Never found a trigger.
