Stopping Firmagon if castration resistant
The cocktail of painkillers plus Radium 223 is making me very tired at the moment. This may seem like a daft question but what is the position with continuing or stopping Firmagon when you're castration resistant? Is its purpose to control the spread of testosterone that would otherwise make the cancer

Im so fed up with the constant SVTs and PACs
Hi everyone... Had successful ablation for AFib and AF in 2016. Ok until last August when all these weird arrythmias suddenly started happening. I assumed it was AFibbut it was different, getting a week to 2 weeks of almost constant palpitations 24/7. Been to A&E 3 times, they weren't bothered. Been

life after thyroidectomy
Hi all. Does anyone experience anxiety and jittery feeling after full thyroidectomy? I got my thyroid removed 8 months ago in April 2022, and on Levothyroxine (112mg) for the rest of my life. I had severe anxiety and panic attacks before surgery due to hyperthyroidism. It went away after surgery but

Help needed with AF medication homework please!
I have an appointment at short notice with my EP on Thursday. This is following the cardioversion that gave me NSR for a week before returning to persistent Afib with resting heart rate in the 90s. I am currently on Adoxaban, and propranolol at night. I'm hoping to have a conversation about potential

Flecainide: Worse AFib attack ever after being prescribed at a+e admission
Hi all hope everyone is well. Wish I was. Two days ago I was diagnosed with angina in ACU and prescribed yet more medication. The angina I now have is distinct from AFib type of angina pain which I am familiar with ie: I only experience it when I'm in afib. So A fib free, in NSR i have angina pain quite

Advice on recent blood test
I had a
partial
thyroidectomy
back in the mid 1990s (currently 59) for Graves disease and was absolutely fine on T4 only until about 5 years ago (suspect menopause) when everything went pear shaped. In 2019, a scan showed there was no thyroid tissue - presume the antibodies finished it off?

whilst the country celebrates the coronation on Saturday I’ll be raising a glass to one year since my mini maze and one year afib free
Where have the last 12 months gone? I honestly can’t believe it’s a year since I had my mini maze and a year since I last had afib! I would do it again without hesitation. After 5 plus years of persistent afib and having been told by the EP who did my catheter ablation that I wasn’t capable of NSR

Ablation to back wall of the heart
I just had a 3rd ablation at the Cleveland Clinic. My first two were PVI ablations, the reason for two was because my first was unfinished due to cardiac tamponade. I have had persistent afib since last Sept. 11th. On this current surgery they found problems on the back wall of the heart and also the

Low platelets
Hi everybody, I have posted this on the AF forum as it sits there because I am on an anticoagulant for afib. However, because I suffer from PMR and I am on prednisolone I thought maybe others may have my recent problem. My blood results have come back with ESR at 17 which I am told is within the normal

Two years post RF PVI
Just a quick up date. Two years from RF PVI. No Afib. No beta blockers. BP very good. PM has 8 years of life left, most energy used downloading daily data dump. Upon reflection should have gone ahead with ablation with first signs. Vivid dreams from beta blockers stopped. Took me longer than I thought

Pluvicto and babies in house
Has anyone had experience with pluvicto or other radiopharmaceuticals, with an infant in the household? My dad lives with us (including 3 month old) and is metastatic castration resistant. He has done 7 doses of docetaxel but last month his PSA increased again so I'm wondering and trying to prepare for

Just diagnosed with Atrial fibrillation
Hi I was diagnosed with A-fib a couple of weeks ago via an ECG trace on my Kardia mobile. I am now on Apixaban 5mgs twice daily and Atenelol and have been advised that an ablation is the best way forward. I only have had 3 episodes to my knowledge and so it paroxysmal but makes me feel pretty unwell

short afib runs 3 months post ablation
Hello, I had my ablation Jan 27th, unfortunately I am still having short runs of afib at times and experienced significant migraine headaches postop so I’m not in a hurry to repeat the procedure. Has anyone had success after 3 months? My EP doesn’t think it will settle much further. Unfortunately I
