home from cardioversion
so I had my 2nd cardioversion today, first one lasted over 2 years……so hopefully this one will last a fair while too. Only took one zap and I was back in sinus rhythm. This time I’ve been told to continue my bisoprolol but last time I wasn’t on them at all. Hopefully this wil keep me in sync until I

L Glutamine
Hi everyone, could anyone advice me on L Glutamine, I have Intestinal Metaplasia and I don't know if I should take it. I have read it supports the stomach lining but I am concerned that this would only help a 'normal stomach' and I may do more harm than good. Thanks

Atrial tachycardia since ablation.
Hi. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Since my pulmonary vein ablation in October I have had one long episode of AFib and had my sixth cardioversion. Since then I have had episodes of atrial tachycardia (resting heart rate between 110-140) My calcium channel blockers - diltiazem -were

Flecainide
I had an ablation on December 13th for paroxysmal AFib (54 year old male). I was put on Flecainide after the ablation with no issues. I had a couple of very short AFib events soon after the procedure but have been relatively healthy since. I came off of the Flecainide on Saturday under direction from

A big shout out for an ILR - implanted loop recorder ECG
Some may have seen me get a bit passionate generally in replies to questions about the benefits of having an implanted loop recorder ECG. ( Read on later to see a bit more detail)I had a cryptogenic severe stroke (unexplained) 2 years ago March. 95% recovery following thrombolysing treatment. Subsequent

palpitations months after ablation
good evening all, I am just past 4 months post my second ablation afib free so far (fingers crossed). I do keep getting the odd what feels like 5 or 10 seconds of palpitations, racing heart, skipped beats, adrenaline rush. Then it settles right back down, has anyone had something like this post ablation

Bicalutamide (Casodex) then Eligard - Question
OK, Another quick question. I've been on Bical for 11 days and in 3 days I get my first 1 month injection of Eligard. I have had almost zero side effects with Bical, maybe a little extra fatigue but hardly noticeable. Does this mean that perhaps I will tolerate Eligard better than what some people experience

Update on AFIB after Doctor visit
Update from my Electrophylogist Doc. Yesterday. He said since the afib just started and was persistent he wanted to start slowly and start with cardio version. Will be scheduled within next two weeks. Said ekg showed afib with heart rate from 70 to 92 beats per minute. Said afib has no cure but many

Confused, Don’t know what’s going on!
In my previous posts I mentioned that we booked a private appointment with cardiologist. After mum had a heart monitor for a week, the consultant confirmed that mum’s average heart rate was around 86, and the peak was around 160. The consultant has doubled the dose of bisoprolol so now mum is to take

Lexiscan Chemical Stress Test
My EP wants me to have a chemical stress test before he puts me on Flecainide. I have so many problems with Afib and PACs that I’m terrified to have them inject me with something that’s going to make my heart take off. I contacted the doctors office to ask them if I can have the treadmill stress test

Holter Monitor Issues
I’m a female, 72. Has anyone been prescribed the Phillips Extended Holter ePatch monitor? I wore this patch for two weeks. I was having problems with PACs, Etopics, Tachycardia and Afib which went on almost the entire time I was wearing the monitor. My HP received the results which said it was ok and

Any suggestions?
Any help for permanent afib after having three cardioversions which worked for the past two years last one only lasted two weeks. Taken off Multaq and on Lopressor 100 am & pm plus eliquis. Told ablation would more than likely not be successful. Should I get a second opinion. Do not feel that great

How safe is taking Apixaban ?
Hello, I am 65 still working and reasonably fit , and have permanent Afib but so far very few symptoms. I take 2.5 mg of Bisoprolol a day. I have had Afib on and off for around 10 years As part of the great NHS system, I was told I needed to be on Apixaban However, the side effects horrify me Should

Bisoprolol & Apixaban
Early sixties. Coming up to two years when I had peridarditis which developed into permanent afib until I had cardio version four months later. Been mostly clear since then but occasional bursts of arrythmia, typically early beats. Think I was stressed out but have also given up alcohol and now exercising

Multi Ablations?
Hello all, Big cardio surgery history, last one 25 years ago, still here thanks to surgeons who were willing to take risks where others weren't! Developed AFib 5 years ago. Had a cryo, success for 2 years then a redo RF, success for 18 months but also had more cardio versions that you can shake a stick
