I have not but I feel the biggest thing you need to do is get them done at a reputable place amd clean them properly. Sometimes tatto places do them and they are on top of keeping everything clean! I would call a few and see what they say. Let them know your a transplant patient.

Have you talked with your transplant team about this?

Yes but they said I didn't need anything and it was fine but they told me that about the dentist they told me about that UTI so I take everything they say with a grain of salt

I already had pierced ears when I had my transplant in 1998 (two holes in each ear). I was able to wear earrings with no problems for years and then starting around 10 years out my piercing holes started getting infected every so often when I left earrings in too long (I only wore posts). Flash forward to now and they are infected even when I don't wear earrings. The infections produce itchy red lobes with pus building up in the holes, and the infections wax and wane over time. It's like an instant infection when I try and wear earrings again so I haven't worn earrings for years. My docs say this is normal with being on immunosuppression meds.
