I have told different things by different Mds. Is it safe to take these two at the same time.

It depends what the outcome you are expecting. These are dangerous drugs and only should be taken under strict medical supervision. Combination of these two can cause death, but not always. It may bring severe withdrawal symptoms as well even though you are using both.

Usually, you need to stop oxycontin and 1 or 2 days later, you should start suboxone. The doses are very important hence a doctor needs to advise based on your situation. My suggestion would be, use both only when a prescription has been issued by qualified doctors with instructions. Make arrangements so you can be taken to hospital quickly in the extreme events (due to uncertainty and risk factors).

I understand your caution, however my pain Md told me that he had many patients on both.

I'm not sure why your doctor is choosing to prescribe both for you. It is concerning to me. I hope you will be able to find your way to better health without either of these. I know that's far and away easier said than done.
