News on last CT scan and scars on lung
Saw my oncologist on Thursday after having finishing my last cycle (6th) of chemo and was told that the scan shows I still have a very small lymph node in my tummy area. He wants to give me 2 months break before putting me back on chemo, accompanied with Avastin. At first I was ok with the news, but

Warning to those in the US who have taken AVASTIN! Generic name: Bevacizumab. I stopped taking Avastin for my WMD and switched to Eylea last year. Ask your doctor if they are using these lot numbers below. (I had to copy and paste the article because the link did not work) "Pacifico National, Inc. dba

No problems at the airport with scarf
I wrote a little while ago that I was worried about wearing my headscarf at Manchester Airport and Tenerife Airport but it was absolutely fine. Everything went well at both Manchester and Tenerife Airport. I wore my scarf with no issues at all. I also had a great holiday. I’m currently having avastin

Anyone on Avastin in UK
Hi my onc added this to list of meds. I looked it up and saw that it was banned for breast cancer in the US years ago as the risk of side effects outweighed benefits. Getting worried now ( my oncologist looks near to retirement so I am worried he is not up to date)

Is anyone taking NSAIDs with their Taxols? It seems that research indicates that the effectiveness of Taxols may be extended.
Research indicates that where Paclitaxel (one of the taxols) loses effectiveness, or we become resistant to it by building up certain proteins in our system that fight the effect of Paclitaxel, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen, licofelone and others that in turn fight these these

Olaparib or not?
Good morning ladies, I am hoping someone will have some sage advice for me. I was diagnosed in October 2017 following what turned out to be a huge debulking operation for suspected bowel cancer. The primary site was probably the Fallopian tube- the following PET scan revealed that it was stage 4 as the

Avastin?
I read that a lot of you lovely ladies are on Avastin. What exactly is it? It's never been mentioned to me by my health professionals. Also, does it work?

Cancer Returns
Hello everyone. Yesterday I went for my usual once every 3 weeks Avastin treatment at the Macmillan Cancer Centre UCLH. I met with my lovely oncologist Dr Miller and was given some results, blood and latest CT scan. She sat closer than usual but it didn't register. She gave me dreadful sad news. My ca125

Stage 4b Ovarian CA125 Life expentancy.
I was diagnosed with stage 4b Ovarian cancer in November 2018. I have received chemotherapy and de bulking surgery. I am now having Avastin every 3 weeks. My CA125 is 16. Has anyone been through a similar journey how long will I have, before it's starts taking hold again? I'm desperate to know how long

Update: Bye bye, Avastin. It's been a dubious pleasure.

Real pain in the bottom
Hello fellow troopers. Ever since my diagnosis of advanced OC last year, I've had the nastiest severe strong ache in my left cheek of my bottom (ischial tuberosity). Now post chemo/surgery and in remission the ache/pain is as bad as ever. I'm on 3 weekly IV Avastin. Anyone else had this? x TudorPurr

Chemo Resistance?
Resistant to Paclitaxel? I have been receiving weekly doses of this taxol and built up a resistance and am now also on Avastin that is administered every 3rd week. The difference in cost is incredible! Has anyone else been through this? I suppose it happens on the other chemo drugs as well. Just when

Update on my mum's saga
Hi Just a quick update on my mum. Her CA125 has now risen to 298. As she has no symptons her consultant was keen for her to just keep on going with the avastin (her last one is in sept). We managed to get away for the week which was lovely but when she came she has noticed she has a small hole in her

Elevated ca125 levels/ possible liver problems?
I could use a little feedback. My ca125 levels have been going down steadily for the past five or six treatments. Unfortunately, I seem to have had issues with my heart. As I'm on avastin, it has most likely been the culprit in the ongoing developing build-up of fluid around the heart sac and the inflammation
