Anyone on Avastin in UK

Hi my onc added this to list of meds. I looked it up and saw that it was banned for breast cancer in the US years ago as the risk of side effects outweighed benefits. Getting worried now ( my oncologist looks near to retirement so I am worried he is not up to date)

It does look like they have discontinued its use in the US. I don’t know anything about it but I would ask your oncologist if he has a reason for putting you on this particular medication. It sounds like all of your medications are working according to your last post so why would he add something like that at this point in time? I know drugs do have off label uses, so maybe he does have a sound reason. I just like to know the reason I have to ingest any extra poisons! Good luck when you talk to him! Elaine

Yes def question this drug. Why? What is the reasoning when there are so many other ones out there? It’s not used here anymore- used to be for years but no more.
