No problems at the airport with scarf

I wrote a little while ago that I was worried about wearing my headscarf at Manchester Airport and Tenerife Airport but it was absolutely fine.

Everything went well at both Manchester and Tenerife Airport. I wore my scarf with no issues at all. I also had a great holiday.

I’m currently having avastin at home and that’s going great as well. My CA125 was never that high - 37 at diagnosis, and that was stage 3, after surgery and when chemo started in February it was 6 for for all chemo cycles and 1 avastin, but my last 2 blood tests before my avastin treatments were 4.... so it’s going in the right direction.

Phew, all my hard work is paying off. I did a radical diet change to whole foods, organic when possible, no animal or dairy or processed (again when possible) I do have tinned chick peas and kidney beans etc., I have tried the soaking and boiling but it’s not always practical. I have raw garlic, ginger and turmeric 2/3 times a day and try and get at least 2 juices a day, so a whole load of carrots, spinach and kale juiced - I call it my healing medicine.

So pleased you had a good holiday, and avoided being mistaken for a terrorist!. You seem very knowledgeable on the diet front, I also eat copious amounts of tumeric and ginger. After I discovered tumeric needed some sort of fat and pepper added for absorption I found a liquid tonic food supplement with bio fermented tumeric, ginger, live cultures and papaya extract which i buy when i can afford to, and eek out, it has has amazingly positive results for me on many fronts, digestion and inflammation for example, not to mention it tastes yummy!. otherwise i make myself a tumeric, coconut oil ( for the fat ,) black pepper concoction that i found on Youtube, mixed into a paste this is another way of getting my tumeric fix and works quite well ( well, apart from the mess, everywhere is yellow for days afterwards! I haven,t tried golden milk yet, but that is basically the same paste but made with dairy milk. Forgive the waffle!

I do enjoy hearing about what other ladies are doing regarding diets ,and have been looking into the ketogenic lifestyle and its effects on cancer, ( there is a vegetarian version of keto ) I,d like to hear what, if any changes others have made , nobody seems to say they,ve seen a NHS nutritionist lol. I am amazed at how little, if any, information we seem to be given on the importance of nutrition and enjoyed hearing about your "healing medicine". Again, please forgive the waffle! X

It’s good to hear from like minded people and it is surprising how little info you get from nhs on diet and lifestyle changes. You have to do your own research, I forgot about the black pepper to aid absorption so will try and add that back in although I do have lots of black & cayenne pepper with most meals. I spoke to someone recently who had diabetes and instead of taking medication changed to a whole foods diet and reversed their diabetes in 3 months, so these ‘diets’ do work.

It’s not about food curing or healing you it’s about giving your body what it needs to fight the bad stuff going on. If your body is spending all day or night trying to digest and process the sugar and bad food/fats that you eat then it doesn’t have time to do it’s job and seek out the bad stuff going on. Good wholesome (non processed) food boosts your immune system.

Now I’m being waffley 😀 and slightly preachey but hey ho, it’s what I believe and there’s plenty of evidence to back it up.

Well done on all your research and diet. I do think it makes a massive difference even though the oncologists don't agree!!🤔 have a look too at adding some algae based beta glucan into your daily routine, has helped my immune system rebuild along with a similar diet to yours. I am now 3 years since diagnosis🤞🤞🤞 stay strong and all the very best! 🌹

Hi. I am always looking into foods and supplements that might make a difference, so could you tell me the name of your yummy tonic please?

It,s called Tumeric Vitality and the one I get is the pineapple Bio Fermented high strength liquid formula, with live cultures and papaya extract. It also comes in berry flavour ( both off the chart moorish and yummy! ) liquid or tablets, but I prefer liquid. I used to get it off Amazon but they haven,t had the liquid one in for a while ( you can still see the reviews) so i went to the company's own site and now buy directly from them 3 bottles an order which gets the cost down to about £ 15 a bottle, and I really stretch them out!. Absolutely love this stuff from Australia which is supposed to increase absorption by 2000 % , I,ve read that a large part of our immune system is in our gut they discovered. I really miss it when I run out, i,m now trying to ferment my own tumeric but it,s not so yummy!. Also got an American friend who has colon cancer into it and she now wouldn,t be without ( I don't work for Vitality lol ! ). You should find the site by googling Tumeric Vitality but if you can,t find it let me know and I.ll find it for you. XXX.

Hi. Thanks for the info. I have recently been reading about the importance of the gut, and how it has more effect on the body than the brain. Apparently immune cells are formed in the gut, and I know that daily antibiotics are the only thing that stands between me and constant UTI's and antibiotics.

Should say probiotics daily. Tablet didn't recognise the word and changed it!
