Is it worth removing the floaters in an MD affected eye
I am a 33 year old and I have dry MD in my right eye. In my left one I had wet MD and I had been treated with avastin and lucentis. With regards to my right eye which I only have peripheral vision, do you think that remving the floaters from it is worth the risk? Lately I the amount of floaters increased

Professor Hani Gabra's Presentation - Professor of Medical Oncology - Imperial College - 25 September 2012
I attended a lecture by Professor Hani Gabra at the Ovarian Cancer Action Research Centre in East Acton. I took notes for Gill (Midwife Gill) who wasn't able to attend but thought it would be helpful to put a résumé of the notes I took as I felt his message was full of hope. Professor Gabra's

Avastin
Hi everyone I wondered what anyone's experience was of Avastin? It's been suggested to me but as I feel I'm doing well (chemo,op, chemo) I'm not convinced that the benefits out weight the side effects etc. Decisions, decisions!! Thanks, Sue

Is anyone taking Avastin as well as Taxol/Carboplatin as part of their Chemo regime?
It was suggested by my oncologist that given the advanced nature of my condition that there might be some advantge in combining Avastin to my chemo regime. However the funding request has so far been refused by the Cancer Drugs Fund on the basis that I do not meet the criteria as I am not suitable

After a hysterectomy and chemo I had excellent scan results but my cancer has come back very quickly.
3 months after finishing carboplatin/taxol/avastin chemo my CA125 has started to rise. It had been stable at around 17 and then in 3 weeks jumped to 51. I'm on maintenance chemo having Avastin every 3 weeks but now it looks as though this isn't working. The consultant has referred me for a scan and says

Well I have just finished 8 rounds of carbo/taxol and Avastin. Results show ct scan clear some small low grade activity on PET which I am assured i shouldn't worry about, but obviously will. Feel exhausted and nervous of the future. Good news is that my hair started to come back after chemo no.5 and

Hi Ladies, You will have missed me on the site. I have been very poorly, not cancer related we now find out thankfully. But I can now explain just why I have not been in touch and and have neglected friends on here. Somehow I find it so difficult to come on and post and deal with other peoples problems

Fantastic Chemo Response - Was it the Curcumin?
My wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in Sept '11. She had a laparotomy and her ovaries, tubes, womb & omentum were removed together with "kilograms" of tumour, but we told there was inoperable tumour remaining in the colon and spleen. She was then started on Paclitaxel/Carboplatin (PC) chemo

How to get Avastin the in UK?
Hi I am looking for information for my sister who has kidney cancer papillary type 2, we have found a trail in America that combines Avastin/Tarceva which they are, if she passes the relevant criteria, willing to accept her on. However, that is a move away from her family - though we can visit, she will
