Carboplatin and gemcitabine
Hello All...... I believe I posted a week or so ago about my recurrence after a 27 month remission from Stage4 OC. My doctors thought I'd be eligible to enter a study, but as it turns out, I am not. I will start on Carboplatin and gemcitabine on Wednesday. My previous treatment was the Carboplatin

Has anyone been able to lose the weight that they gained during chemo? If so how did you do it?
I've finished 8 sessions of taxol/Carbo and avastin end of last December. I've started a new line of Femara+Ibrance+avastin in January. Even though I insisted on stopping steroids during this new line of treatment I'm gaining weight like crazy. Excruciating pains inhibit my mobility but I'm doing my

Avastin...cough?
Hi all. Just a quick question. My mother has been on avastin over a year now and has had a dry tickly cough since starting it. She's doing great on avastin so def won't be stopping that. Oncologist doesn't think it's a side effect of avastin. Are any of ye on avastin and had this? She's also on bp

Monitoring
Good morning ladies I shall be finishing Avastin in August and at my oncologist appointment this week, asked how it would be monitored when treatment finished. I expected that i would at least have regular blood tests to check CA125, but was told that nothing would be done and they would rely on me to

Stage 4 question
Hey all! So I had stage 3 last year and then had my cancer metastasis to a couple lymph nodes in my neck and back. So now because of the reoccurrence I'm stage 4. My question is I am on carbo/taxol and avastin and in June I'll be done with my final chemo. Now my doctor expressed that she does not want

Weekly Taxol plus Avastin
Hi Friends! I just found out today I have to start third line treatment next week. They have decided to use weekly taxol plus twice monthly avastin. On first line I had carbo/taxol. On the second day after treatment is when the severe fatigue set in and the ickys. Second line was avastin/doxil.

Had a meeting with my consultant who after two trials of caelyx, said "its not working" There is nothing much else we can offer except weekly Taxol and the response will be low." I had only two doses because i got a serious sepsis infection in my PICC line.I was in hospital for 10 days so I had two caelyx

What options after chemo?
Hi all, we got the news today that unfortunately Mam's chemo (she is stage 4) isn't working and the consultant has made the difficult decision not to continue treatment (weekly taxol). She previously had carbo/taxol which stabilised her for 5.5 months. She had a reaction to Avastin so couldn't take that

Nosebleeds
Hello All I hope Friday is treating you well. Just a quick question. I finished Avastin in Feb and while on it had the usual bloody nose that many people report but my nose has never really recovered and recently I've had sneezing and irritation (poss pollen related although don't generally suffer).

Olaparib
Hello ladies I hope everyone is as well as can be expected! I have just been told by my oncologist that I will start Olaparib with Avastin, after scan showed progression of disease with more tumours in peritoneum. Does anyone have experience with this therapy? I have BRCA mutation in tumour but

Post Avastin
Started to write a post and lost it in the middle - it may appear but I just need a bit of support for fellow fighters as I have virtually given up. Good Morning My mom is stage 3c high grade. She had ascites before diagnosed but after frontline of carbo/gem and Avastin for 6months her ca-125 is very low but was never high..79 at diagnosis and 13 during treatment. Dr says her scans don't show anything except small ascites still. He put her on Tomaxafin

Side effects
Hi I am new to posting. Was diagnosed stage 111c high grade Jan 2016. Had 4 lots of carboplatin and paclitaxel then hysterectomy followed by further two rounds of Chemo. Had Avastin until December when Ca125 levels started to rise rapidly. By February levels were 1400. Showing no symptoms so they left

The dreaded CA
I am coming up to a year post op and one more avastin to go. I was feeling quite jubilant. I asked for my CA result at Avastin 17 and was confident all would be well as it had sat at 15 for about 4 months. I was gutted that it was 42 and more than doubled in 3 weeks. I've had a melt down but now

Avastin?
Does anybody know what criteria determines who is prescribed Avistin after first line treatment and who isn't? I'm in US so curious if this is a more common practice in England but not here. When I asked my Onc if I would be having it she simply said no. I didn't push it, but seems to be standard
