Why do you stop both wheat AND dairy for autoimmune issues?
Hi, I've read many times on this forum that going gluten free and dairy free often helps people with autoimmune issues. I have recently, by a bizarre coincidence (A2 milk reduced in my local supermarket) discovered that I might have an issue with milk protein. I have been afflicted for some weeks with

Somewhat belated introduction!
I probably should have introduced myself before posting about the woes of my asthma and commenting…sorry :) I am 17yo, biologically female but identify as male. Which kind of sucks but hey, that's life. I have 'hayfever', eczema and asthma (you would never have known that, would you?), and I suffer

Getting better from years of untreated asthma
Since I was a kid I had some asthma symptoms related to my allergies, which I controlled by staying away from triggers. I also had a few episodes of bronchitis that caused shortness of breath, but they went away with antibiotics after a few days. After I got some minor flu this Christmas, I started

Itchy skin
Just been having a look around the internet, my anti histamines don't seem to be reducing the itch much at the moment and have found this: Oral antihistamines. Your doctor may recommend anti-allergy medications to ease your itch. This group of medications includes over-the-counter drugs that don't make

POST NASAL DRIP - what is it ?
Every day, glands in the lining of your nose, throat, airways, stomach, and intestinal tract produce about 1 to 2 quarts of mucus -- a thick, wet substance that moistens these areas and helps trap and destroy foreign invaders like bacteria and viruses before they can get into your body and cause infection

Weather related asthma
I'm new here, I recently had a flare up in my asthma, after 11 years! I was taking the maximum dose of beclomethasone along with salbutamol 4 times a day, plus extra if needed. I was then changed to Fostair as I could not have any more Beclo, it worked for me. I only get one side effect so I just deal

Any advice welcomed. I am at the end of my tether. Spending hours in the toilet with IBS -D and abdominal pain.
I have had IBS-D for about 2 years. Prior to that I always tended towards constipation, but it changed overnight to the opposite problem. It has been up and down in severity at different times, and I have been managing it with 30mg codeine x 4 daily, and mebeverine and lansaprozole daily. About 6 weeks

Brittle asthma, Anaphylaxis and the royal Brompton
Hello all, I haven't posted on here in quite some time, I'd sort of given up on trying to get any advice about my asthma. Over the eight week summer holiday period, I spent four weeks in hospital. After my last admission a couple of weeks ago I went home feeling tired, but my chest felt good, for over

Has anybody tried Loratadine for Erythromelalgia or MCTD?
I heard about it from another chat room and have found it helpful.

Hi everyone, I'm just looking for information before I see the asthma nurse next month. I am on loratadine 10mg daily for 'hayfever asthma.' I have tried various others and find this one the best. Can I add another one to this to see if it helps? I need to ask the pharmacist this question really to

I'd wear a cat as a hat if I thought it would help!
Before you start ringing the RSPCA I would get the cats consent first. I feel as I'm sure you all do I would do anything to get my life back. My approach has been to try the surgery and drugs and alternative therapies alongside. I carefully research any new ideas, and if there are no potential risks

I have been ill now for 3 yrs March, I started off with a chest infection which didn't clear up, was put on inhalers and eventually saw a specialist in the Oct 2010, gave all the symptoms of extreme breathlessness, coughing, wheezing, chest tightening, couldn't believe when he as much said it was all

Everyday is a new lesson
I often think that when someone is diagnosed with endo there should be some handy information book. Not just about all the different treatments, but about the everyday things. Endo affects every single aspect of my life, often in ways I didn't expect. For example, before endo a trip to the theatre would

Waaaaaait for meeee! (post scan update)
Had the CT scan yesterday. I was given a large jug of water to drink so I asked how long it would be until the scan as I have trouble 'holding on' to a full bladder, Cue puzzled look and quick flick of the eyes up and down by the nurse to try and see why I would say such a thing. Was assured it would

Pre-scan jitters
Haven't blogged this week as I had the worst flare-up for years lasting from last Tues evening to yesterday :-( Tomorrow is my CT scan (to see if anything has changed since the last one in 2008). Now for most people it would be a breeze, but for me as soon as I see '..and you need a full bladder' I
